Hi! I’m moving to Calgary from Sydney for my graduate studies at UofC and I’m looking for a room.

My requirements:

• A room with an attached bathroom.
• Preferably in a shared house with 1 or 2 people max(20s, early 30s), but will consider studio or 1 bedroom apartments if I have to.
• Looking to move-in by the last week of April or the 1st of May.
• An ideal location would be places close to the university. I’m considering Sunnyside/Kensington, Brentwood and Varsity. If you think there are other places that would be close enough to the university that I’m not considering, please let me know! Also open to places in Downtown, if the commute is okay.
• Should be close to a bus stop or the c-train as I won’t be getting a car anytime soon.
• Don’t really have a set budget, but hoping to find something around $800. Again, that’s flexible.
• Would love to have a furnished room, but unfurnished is okay as well.

A little bit about me:

• A chemical engineer transitioning into the tech industry.
• I’ve lived in shared houses in Kuala Lumpur and Sydney, with people from different backgrounds and always got along very well.
• I’d say I’m quite responsible, considerate, friendly and pretty easy going. I’ll mostly be keeping to myself on the weekdays but definitely up for beers/wine/movies/hikes/any other good time on Friday nights or weekends.
• I like to keep my home/room pretty neat and organized and really appreciate those who do the same.
• I really, really enjoy indie music and I’m always hyping up my Spotify playlists. But don’t worry, it will never ever be too loud.
• I don’t smoke, but I’m okay with it as long as you’re respectful and clean.

Hoping to sort out my accommodation ASAP because I hear it gets kinda cold outside in Calgary.
