Overview: I am looking to move into a nice house with 1-2 other nice people. The idea is that we all enjoy each others company, could become friends and live in a nice comfortable place that we have curated for ourselves. For this reason I am looking for some people to move in with before looking for the house so that I can have a drink with you and get to know you a bit and we can decide if we would want to live together first. Then we can look for a place together - The idea is to not rush and actually find some place great.

Who am I: I am originally from South Africa and have been living in Toronto for almost 2 years. I am a friendly person who likes the company of others. I do like to “hibernate” at times but always up for a glass of wine or beer and a chat. I am pretty sociable and like to spend time with friends. I am respectful of others as well as their space. I like to keep my home neat and tidy and do not like a mess. I enjoy cooking and do tend to cook most of the time as opposed to ordering in. I also clean up after myself while cooking. I enjoy outdoor activities such as running, hiking, camping, going to the beach, and certain sports. And like watching F1, rugby (like I said I am South African) and football every so often. Still trying to get into Canadian sports. I really want to be able to grow plants at home again (condo living has caused me to kill many plants… with love) partly so that I have fresh herbs and other things for cooking. I work in Downtown and go into the office pretty much every day.

Who are you: You have been living in Toronto for at least a year. You are looking to move somewhere you can call home and become friends with your housemates. You are not looking for a place where you can leave your things and spend 1 night at a week. If I wanted to live alone I wouldn’t be looking for a housemate. You enjoy doing things outdoors. You don’t mind having people over every so often for games nights/ potlucks / BBQ’s / watch sport. You like a clean space and clean up after yourself. If you have a pet I’m okay with that.

The House: I am looking for a house just out of the downtown core, ideally in Leslieville. However higher up near East Riverdale area is also an option or closer to The Beaches. It must be within cycling distance of work and close enough to TTC for winter commuting. I aim to furnish the house and make it my own so I will look for something unfurnished. I am pretty picky when it comes to what I am looking for so these are some of the important things in the house for me:

• Natural light (just for general happiness as well as plant happiness)
• New-ish fixtures
• Open plan (not a deal breaker but definitely preferred)
• Some storage (for things like camping gear and other such stuff)
• Outside area for socializing and BBQ (this is a deal breaker)
• Decent water pressure (again not a deal breaker but this gets really annoying over time) I do not have a car at present and as of yet I don’t have immediate plans to get one. So if there is a parking spot and you have a car then it will be yours.
