Two housemates seeking a third to share our spacious, 2100 square foot home in beautiful, convenient Burnaby Heights, offering spectacular views of downtown Vancouver. Rent is $852.46 each; costs shared for cable, gas, and electricity (avg. about $200/ea per mo).

We’re looking for a queer or queer-friendly, open-minded, person who shares our progressive values. You are stably-employed and committed to co-creating a safe, clean, and quiet shared living space. We are two gay men, each in stable LTRs with partners who live elsewhere.

House includes a sunken living room, spacious kitchen/eating area with dishwasher and microwave; main bathroom with two sinks (one roommate has an ensuite); dining room; storage and cold rooms; washer/dryer. We have a large back, south-facing deck where we grow veggies - includes a covered pergola. Tenant with ensuite and master bdrm purchases cleaning supplies for household.

The available room is downstairs, affording quiet and privacy, carpeted.

Please be prepared to supply references relevant to employment and previous tenancies. The successful applicant will sign a separate tenancy agreement with the landlord.

We are two middle-aged gay-identified men. One of us has lived here for about six months; the other for 3.5 years. We have lived here with other roommates, male and female, queer and straight, ages 20s to 50s. One of us works outside the home as a community organizer with a nonprofit; the other is a kayak instructor and P/T computer systems consultant, who works from home.

We both like the outdoors. One of us is an avid gardener, while the other enjoys harvesting wild foods. We’re both physically active and engaged, and enjoy cooking.

Our philosophy of shared accommodation is respect for one another and for maintaining shared space; and clear and open communication. We make decisions and look after the household cooperatively, and by consensus.

We both have partners (who live elsewhere). They occasionally spend the night. However, we both live fairly quiet lifestyles, and are non-partiers. We encourage maximizing enjoyment of this beautiful space with its tremendous views from our spacious deck; while ensuring we don’t infringe on the enjoyment of it by our housemates.
