About the room

I am looking for a new roommate to take a vacant bedroom and split the rent with. I am asking for $955 per month. Ready to move in. The full rent is $1785 per month. That includes heat and hot water. Toronto Hydro ($50-60 per month) and High-Speed internet ($70 per month) are separate expenses that I am paying; I have included your share of those expenses in my asking price. There is a parking space available for an additional $50 per month.

The apartment is 2nd level above grade and located in the Belgravia neighborhood. Eglinton West Subway station is within walking distance. The York Beltline Trail runs right behind the building. The building has a shared laundry room in the basement with coin-op machines. I am offering an unfurnished bedroom within a two-bedroom apartment. The other bedroom is mine. The living room, kitchen, washroom, and dining area are shared spaces. I will leave them unfurnished if you have your own couch/dining table to move in. If not, I will be investing in my own furnishings. The kitchen includes a dishwasher, fridge, and induction range stove (only metal pots/pans work on it). There is a storage closet large enough to fit bicycles. After a credit check, I will be asking for a signed tenant agreement for a minimum 6-month term. After that term will be month-to-month. Unless the landlord requests otherwise, you will not be signed on to the lease. Your share of the rent will be paid to me via e-transfer on the first day of every month. I will pay the full rent directly to the landlord. I will inform the landlord I’ve taken on a roommate. I will ask for a last month deposit.

The apartment falls under rent control status, as it has remained occupied since before 2018. The apartment is accessed from one of two stairwells. One from the front door. The other leads to the basement laundry room. The building’s front door is locked with a number pad. There are no elevators.

About the roomies

I am in my 30’s. I’ve been working full time through covid (soon to be vaccinated). I’m a receiving courier downtown. If you want to find common grounds with me; movies are a sure thing. I’m often self-entertaining in my own room. If you hear weird noises, I’m probably on Discord with my friends (we play D&D). I’m always down to hang out. I have friends who I’m always eager to introduce. From spring through summer, I may be away on weekends to do farm or gardening work.
