Marcombe Drive NE

I’ll be taking possession of the house on August 25th (sorry for the limited photos). Located in Marlborough close to 52nd St, there is close access to Memorial and 16 Ave, lots of shopping and grocery stores around the area (15 minutes to downtown!). It’s technically a 5 bed house with 1140 square feet, but 2 of the bedrooms are downstairs in a separate rental suite. There is the master, a medium sized bedroom (which would be the one you’d rent, bottom left bedroom in photos), and a smaller bedroom that I’m hoping I can turn into a guest room eventually along with an art/painting room. There is a large open floor plan, lots of light, hardwood floors, updated appliances, kitchen and washroom, with shared laundry on the lower level. Plenty of street parking. There is a private backyard, large front yard, an area paved on one side of the house for patio furniture and a BBQ. Double garage for storage and hangout space. Cat friendly, weed friendly, psychedelic friendly (no hard drugs). My cat is very sweet/friendly, and I’d be fine if you were bringing a cat with you as well. There isn’t a driveway, but will be walkways to shovel in the winter and lawn mowing in the summer. I’m hoping my future roomie will be able to help with these items periodically. The house is furnished (kitchen has mostly everything) except for the extra bedroom where you will supply your own furniture. The bedroom is on the small-medium side. There is a 1/2 bath off of the master, so the main bathroom will mostly be yours, except for me using the shower/tub. There is decent storage in the house and storage in the garage, and I’m hoping to turn it into an extra hangout space over the next year. Rent would be $600 for the room and 1/3 of utilities per month. I have tried to estimate a bit high for utilities, but we won’t really know until we live in the house for a bit. Estimating between $175-$190 for utilities per month (water, electric, heat, gas, waste collection, internet). There is a special plan for utilities that keep it a consistent amount per month so we won’t get huge bills for heating in the winter.

Hoping to create a cozy home space with a good roomie! I respect boundaries, but am also hoping to become friends with the person I live with. Let me know if you’re interested.

I will be in the master bedroom upstairs. I’m a young professional who is fairly quiet, organized, and likes to keep the house tidy. I don’t do a lot of partying or going out (friends will periodically be over), and tend to stay home when I can. I also love my fair share of Netflix, cooking, jamming to music, doing puzzles, reading, and hanging out outside/in the yard during the summer. I also love hiking and camping (and would love it if my roomie also shared these interests). I paint, so the 3rd bedroom is being used as an art studio. My boyfriend will be over a few times a week, and my mom will be living in the 2 bedroom basement suite downstairs (we’ve purchased the house together). She will most likely be upstairs once a week for a movie night or coffee. She’s very nice, a bit chatty, and is also 420 and psychedelic friendly. She’s will be helping with property maintenance. We have family in the city, so we will be periodically hosting dinners every couple of months (everybody is super nice, and you’re invited to join in if you’d like).
