About the room

Live life quietly, right beside the action. The best feature of this place is its prime location for entertaining, transportation, fitness and lifestyle. Built in the most active, friendly and exciting neighbourhood in Calgary.
It is a block from popular 4th Street and less than 10-minutes to the ever-busy 17th Avenue. Both feature shops, gyms, vibrant restaurants, cafes, pubs and nightlife. It is only a 20-minute walk from the downtown core, the Calgary Stampede, Saddledome and BMO Centre. The train station is a mere 15 min walk away, as well as the numerous bus routes that travel through the area will take you to any part of the city you want. There are several fitness options for you and they are all walking distance. Barry’s YYC, Yoga Santosha, Goodlife, The Repsol Sport Centre. If you prefer the outdoors there are numerous trails around the Elbow and Bow rivers, as well as beautiful parks such as the Lindsay Park, Stanley park and River park. Here is some other relevant information: I’m not a smoker and I don’t want to live with smokers. My wife and I are both vegetarians and animal lovers, however we are welcoming to your own personal diet. We have an adopted 8ish year old ragdoll cat named Bandit. He is pretty chill but can be chatty at times. Your one small cat or dog can make their application as well, but this must include an interview with Bandit. The room is furnished. You will only need to bring your own bed linens and personal items. The rent is $800/mo including Shaw fibre+ internet and utilities. There is a parking space which is not included in the rent but can be made available for an additional $100/mo. A 2 weeks security deposit of $400 added to the first month payment is required.

About the roomies

I’m Luis. I’m originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, but I’ve been living in Calgary for the past four years with my Canadian wife, Emily. She is going to Olds College in September for a period of one year and we are renting the guest bedroom for this reason. My friends would describe me as a compassionate, straightforward person who loves to chat and make people laugh. I’m industrious and creative, and a highly conscientious person. In my free time, I like to spend my time outside. I work out at the park next to our home almost every day. I also enjoy spending time with others and attending community events. On the weekends, I often head out to hike or rock climb. One of my favorite places to go to is the Ship and Anchor on 17th Ave for live music and a good pint of beer. I work at Barry’s YYC on 4th Street. I work pretty early, 5-12 in the morning. During the week, I’m usually in bed by 10:30 and up by 4:30. On the weekends, I’m usually asleep by 12 and up around 7. ‍ I’m a pretty social person, but I also need my alone time. I want my house to be a place where I can have people over, but not a place that’s constantly full of people. I’m open to the idea of my roommate hosting small gatherings - I would just like to know about these ahead of time. I occasionally host dinners for friends. We have a front yard haven with a barbecue and garden to receive our guests. Our apartment is newly renovated, private, naturally well-lit and secure. I like to keep common living spaces pretty clean, neat and organized. I’m open to the idea of a cleaning schedule to keep things organized.
