Hello!
I am renting out a large bedroom in my 2 bedroom apartment. You would be living with yours truly! This is a basic furnished room rental suitable for shorter term stays (1-3 months), but term length is negotiable. $1,350 per month (utilities included), with a half month security deposit. Read on to hopefully paint a picture of your new home!
About the unit
- Original character hardwood throughout
- Very large, including a large living room, separate dining room (for real!), galley kitchen, very large bedroom (yours) and a smaller bedroom (mine).
- Stove, oven, mid-sized fridge. Sorry, no dishwasher or in-suite laundry (it’s down the hall).
- One bathroom with tub
- Your bedroom is massive, practically a master bedroom without the ensuite
- Room has basic furnishing of queen bed, night stand, desk, computer chair. Anything else in the included photo belongs to the current tenant and will be taken with them.
- An actual dining room! Like to have people over for dinner?
- Closet space on the other hand is a bit limited
- All utilities included (including gigabit internet)
- Ground floor, very close to entrance
- Laundry room in building is just down the hall. Coinamatic managed laundry, machines use a pin card that you preload.
About the building
- On Cambie street, street facing
- One block from the King Ed Skytrain station
- Relatively small building with three floors, roughly 16 units (guessing!)
- Built in the 40s, maintaining most of its original character
- No pets, no smoking (of any sort, including vaping)
- A mixed group of tenants including a few young families with kids. Most tenants are in the 30-45 age range.
- Limited number of private, single car garages are available with an exterior parking pad. These are $200/month (last I checked) and I could ask if one is available if you are interested. Yes you really could have your own private garage and parking stall in an apartment building!
About the neighbourhood
- Cambie Village is just 6 blocks up the street
- Choices grocery store, alternatively Safeway is 8 blocks away
- Assorted restaurants including sushi, Indian, Vietnamese, Lebanese, Belgian, Ice Cream (restaurant?), etc.
- Coffee shops
- Big park (Douglas Park) and cedar walking/running track is two blocks away
- Tennis courts 3 blocks away
- Queen Elizabeth Park is just a few blocks away (Rec. centre, Canadians baseball games, disc golf course, pitch and putt course, tennis courts, gardens, etc.)
- Close to Skytrain stations
- Close to Broadway
- Close to Main St.
- Close to South Granville St.
- Very central area able to get to all parts of Vancouver relatively quickly

- 35 year old man
- Self employed professional (visual designer, web developer, marketing), working from home (since before it was cool). Desk is in the living room, but don’t mind the space being used while I work (except for rare occasions when I have video calls, roughly 3 a week). I also don’t work at the desk a lot of the time.
- Low maintenance, easy going, quiet, clean, respectful
- Volleyball player, curler, softballer
- Avid craft beer and wine drinker. Have any favourite spots?
- Movie, tv, video game buff
- Hiker, camper, outdoorsy
- Like to relax at home mostly
- Non-smoking, non rec. drug user
- Infrequent visitors at the apartment
- Social at home to an extent, but need my recharge time as well. Mostly introverted with a side dish of extroverted.
- Might even cook for you sometimes!
About you
- Maybe into similar interests? We could be best friends!
- Clean and hygienic (no dishes piling up please!)
- Preferably not working from home, but not mandatory. Certainly not a deal breaker as I’m aware working from home is so hot right now!
- Non-smoking, non drug user
- No pets
- Not a big fan of strong smells like incense or heavy handed diffusers
- No couples rental, or partners staying over frequently please. Of course sometimes is fine, I don’t hate love, but you and I are living here, not 3 of us, ya know?
- Vaccinated and covid conscious as things evolve (better safe than sorry, right?)
- Ideally looking to help make a comfortable home, rather than simply rent a room to sleep in
- Energy welcome! I love extroverted energy.
