Kayla's room

The room is unfurnished and includes two large closets. You have your own hydro-thermostat for the room, as well as your own bathroom. You would be the first person living in the room since it was primarily used as an office.

• Large kitchen ft. a four-person counter/island, a gas stove, hidden microwave, dishwasher, tons of cabinet space, and walk-in pantry. I have a fully stocked kitchen with appliances ranging from an Instant Pot to an espresso maker, as well as some nice pots and pans which you can use.

• Living space with a cozy reading nook and tons of natural light.

• Large patio space with outdoor furniture and a Weber grill - perfect for entertaining and growing plants. Free on-street parking, in-unit laundry, security system, heated floors throughout (nice for those cold Vancouver mornings)

• The owners live on the top unit. They are incredibly friendly and responsive when there have been minor maintenance fixes but otherwise give us space.

• Located on a quiet side street with families and retirees Within a short walking distance to several stores and amenities, including No Frills, Save on Foods, Earnest Ice Cream, and Shoppers. Closest transit options are the 8, 25, and 33 bus routes.

Hi, I’m Kayla and I’m a grad student at UBC in my late-20s studying urban planning. I’m originally from the States and moved to Vancouver right before the pandemic with my partner, who is from the area. My husband is relocating back to the States for a job opportunity at the end of the year, but I am staying in Vancouver for the next year and a half to finish my program.

When I’m not in class, I enjoy playing board games, reading and walking around Vancouver to discover my new favorite neighborhood coffee spot. I also love to cook, and like to host 1-3 friends over for dinner every few weeks - you are more than welcome to join in if you feel comfortable! Since we have such a beautiful space, I like to keep it fairly clean and tidy with limited clutter in the main area. I am double vaxxed and will be getting my booster shot as soon as I’m able to :)
