About the room
Our duplex is located in the community of Laurel. It has great access to 17th street, 23 avenue, the whitemud, and the henday, which makes commuting a breeze! The house itself was built in 2016, so it features many modern accents. We also have a nice backyard for hanging out in. Our furniture and decor is super trendy and clean.
Transit is pretty good from our place. We have a bus stop right behind our house that goes to the main transit centers. You can get to the U of A in less than an hour, which is pretty decent for Edmonton transit! The city is also planning on opening the new LRT line soon, which runs right to our neighbourhood and would make it easy to get to anywhere in the city within 30 mins.
As our roommate, you will have a private bedroom (with a closet) and bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower. You are welcome to share our furniture, kitchenware, etc. as long as you keep it in good condition (damages will need to be compensated accordingly). The garage is reserved for our use only.
About the roomies
Our names are Burke and Tiana. We are a couple in our twenties who enjoy adventure, travelling, sports, and just having a good time. Our hobbies include skiing, hiking, camping, going out on an odd Saturday night (Cook County is our fave), board/card games, and just being outside. We are both open to becoming buddies with our roommate, but also understand that people enjoy alone time.
As roommates, we emphasize the importance of open communication and respect. We keep common areas clean in a reasonable time frame, encourage personal space and individuality, and employ respectful communication when dealing with conflict. We are looking for a roommate with similar values.
We have two pets also living in the house; Blossom the cute lil cat and Hope the 6 year old Australian kelpie. Because of this, we aren’t looking for a roommate with other pets. Both of our pets are extremely friendly and well mannered. If you want your space, they will give it to you (you might need to be stern with Blossom, she’s a cuddler), but if animals aren’t your thing, this house might not be for you.
