About the room
Bonjour!
(Yes, I’m aware I wrote a damn novel, but it’s all super important stuff I swear!)
• Seeking a third (female) roomie to join us in our cozy three bedroom condo to fill the void in our hearts…and rent.
A little about the apartment: (Ladies Only!)
• We live in a beautiful 3 bedroom condo in which everyone has access to a balcony from their bedroom
• We all have closets
• Our apartment faces away from traffic (much more relaxing)
Bonus: if you’re terrified of bugs like me, I haven’t seen a spider here in a year and a half
• We live in a very safe area
• It’s a 5-minute walk to the Sheppard West subway station, a 2-minute walk to Tim Hortons/convenient store, a 5-minute bus ride to the nearest grocery store, and around the corner from Downsview Park
• The building has a gym and sauna if you ever need to de-stress or feel guilty about eating that entire cheesecake by yourself hehehe..
• The roof has a cool hangout area and communal BBQ
• The rent for the room is currently $675.00
• The room in question features a large window perfect for looking out of, a large closet wonderful for storing fascinating things, and is painted a majestic icy blue colour. I know what you’re thinking, where do I sign amirite? ;)
• The apartment IS furnished HOWEVER your room will not be so you’ll probably need to bring a bed unless floors are your thing (no judgment here)
• The floors in the apartment area are a dark wood laminate, granite counters in the kitchen, there is a dishwasher, and an ensuite washer/dryer
• We also have heating and central air conditioning so you’ll be comfortable during these trying times
Overall a pretty spacious condo compared to most condos you’ve probably seen, but don’t take my word for it, check it out for yourself.
About the roomies
Here’s a little info, about us:
• Our third roommate and very dear friend is sadly moving out so both myself and Lara will be your new roomies!
• We’re both young, motivated professionals in our late 20’s who spend much of our time either working or studying, but on our off hours we’re pretty goofy and enjoy watching movies together, gaming, eating desserts, or having candlelit drink nights on the balcony :)
• I’d consider both of us ambiverts; we’re very friendly and love meeting new friends, going out for coffee/drinks, and other social events in general (well…we did more of that before Covid anyway). That being said, however, we also really love our low key nights like staying in, ordering takeout, and watching Netflix, k-dramas, Disney+, etc. (WARNING: We may occasionally spontaneously break out into song….#SorryNotSorry)
• We’re both very respectful of each others’ space and belongings and will be of yours too! We’re hoping our next roommate will be more of a friend rather than a housemate. We’d love if you’d join us and hang out, whether that’s playing video games, reading books together on a rainy day, or going out for drinks (when things settle down a bit with Covid of course).
Who we’re looking for:
• We’d like someone who is looking to stay long-term, not just a couple months.
• I like going out and having fun as much as the next gal, but we don’t want any parties at our place.
• Absolutely no drugs allowed (edibles are fine), we don’t smoke and don’t really want to live with a smoker either.
• This goes without saying, but you are responsible for your portion of rent (utilities and internet are divided equally).
• We’d prefer to keep everything we buy separate for the most part (like food), however it would make sense to go splits on common household things such as tin foil, dish soap, garbage bags, etc.
• As for chores, we’re not neat freaks, as we both have jobs and understand how tough staying on top of cleaning can be. That being said, we do have a pretty good system worked out where each person has one chore they’re in charge of.
• We keep the common areas as clean as possible since we all share the same space, but as for your room, that’s your business! (Just maybe just no farm animals? Lol…. )

(And If you’ve made it this far and don’t want to kill me yet, I’m thoroughly impressed hahahah…ha…)
Overall:
RENT is $ 675.00 (not including utilities)
-Room is available June 1st
-We’re looking for someone responsible (bills, cleaning up after themselves, etc), not flakey
-Be respectful of each other and of their belongings
-Be friendly/kind!
-The apartment is furnished but your room won’t be so please bring a bed.
-Have a sense of humour? (Not a requirement but never hurts nervous laughter* haha)
-Someone who consistently wears pants?
-Non-smoker
-No drugs
-No parties
-Significant others can stay over but should be at their place more than ours as a general rule
-Not judging at all, but please don’t bring one night stands back here
-No pets (due to allergies) but this could be negotiated possibly
-Good communicator (someone who can talk about any issues/concerns they have with us rather than resort to passive-aggressiveness) we’re all adults after all.
