About the room

Hi! I’m Yarrow (she/her).

I’m a 29-year-old non-binary trans girl living in the Plateau Montréal.

I live in a very nice 2-bedroom apartment near Parc Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier, in between metros Rosemont and Laurier.

My only current roommate is my friendly cat, Merlin. I’m looking for a human roommate and I’m willing to offer a really good deal on the rent because I’m lonely.

This is Merlin: (picture)

What I’m looking for in a roommate:

ideally, someone who is trans, non-binary, genderqueer, Two-Spirit, intersex, or gender non-conforming (or otherwise non-cisnormative)

someone between the ages of 20 and 40

someone who doesn’t have a cat (unless the cat FeLV+ and gets along with other cats) or a dog (unless the dog is good with cats)

someone who doesn’t mind living with a cat

someone who is willing (and able) to take some time to get to know me beforehand to see if we could be compatible roommates and could become friends

someone who is emotionally intelligent, has good relationship skills, good communication skills, and who is good at managing their anger and engaging in peaceful conflict resolution

Half of the rent would normally be $1,100/month but I would be willing to go down to $500/month or even less because for me it isn’t about the money; it’s that it’s started to feel very lonely to live alone (well, besides Merlin, my love and joy).

There would be no commitment required; you could pay month-to-month if you wanted.

Conversely, if you’re looking for more of a guarantee than that, we could negotiate what amount of time you’d want to commit for (e.g. 3 months, 6 months).

About the roomies

Video tour: https://youtu.be/j8VeWCzcKoY I would be happy to be flexible with letting anyone move out earlier or later than we agreed, i.e., whenever you find a place. You would have more freedom and choice than you normally get with a 1-year lease.

By the way, the landlord is by far the kindest and most helpful I’ve ever had. He’s also very respectful of my gender identity.
