About the room

TL;DR - Looking for quiet, tidy people that need rooms in a cozy, welcoming apartment in the City Park area. TWO rooms available, $600 a month each, utilities, internet, and in-suite storage included. $200 deposit required. Parking is an additional $50/month and is subject to the property management’s approval, I have no control over parking stalls (stalls have electric outlets). 1.5 bathrooms. A/C. Secure entry building with intercom. Bus routes 11 and 12 stop just outside, direct to campus routes are two blocks away. Must be okay with one cat, can’t allow more pets, unfortunately. Shared kitchen and living spaces. One bedroom can come with a twin bed if needed. Both rooms available immediately. More details below.

Preference given to women, women-identifying or non-binary people, and students. LGBT+ friendly, practice literally any religion you like, and as long as you don’t get loud and destructive, I don’t care if you drink.

As per the building’s property management, anyone I rent to has to complete their application. It’s super chill, they just want to know who you are and if you have any sort of income or savings to pay rent. I’m the lease holder of the apartment and our roommate agreement is between us in terms of payment, but the property management does require I have you fill out their form. More details can be provided if you’re interested.

$200 deposit required. This would cover any damage to your room you don’t fix yourself (nail holes from pictures, for example, or scuffs). This also covers your keys and laundry card. Provided your room is how you first got it and you return all keys, deposit will be returned in full when you move out.

Two bedrooms available in a three-bedroom apartment in City Park area. Rooms are quite spacious, there’d be room for a twin bed, dresser, and desk (that aren’t too huge, mind you). The closets are also large, the flooring is carpet, and all windows are west facing. One (1) of these rooms can come partially furnished with a twin bed on a wood frame, one set of sheets included. Provide your own pillow. First come first serve for the bed. In-suite storage is available, too. The plan is to divide that space into thirds so everyone has a place for extra things, should you need it.

The apartment has 1.5 bathrooms, so the renters of these two rooms would share a bathroom full-time with each other. I’ll only use it for showering, and in the event of bathroom emergencies my half bathroom can be used.

The apartment building itself is just blocks from downtown, two blocks from direct bus-routes to campus, and around the corner from cafes and restaurants. Snap Fitness is just a 10 minute walk or 2 minute drive away. Entrances are all secured and key-entry only, with an intercom system for visitors. There is a balcony as well. The building is entirely non-smoking, including on the balconies. I have no issues with marijuana, so long as it isn’t being burned or smoked. Laundry is one floor below the suite. This is a four-story apartment without an elevator, my suite is on the fourth floor. I’d be willing to help you move your things up, I know what it’s like.

No pets, unfortunately. I have one cat, who is very sweet and usually quiet, but she’s incredibly aggressive towards other cats. For the sake of keeping everyone’s stress down, I can’t have other cats here. The building doesn’t allow dogs. These rooms would be best for students that just need a room for their stuff and access to frying pans. I have pans, pots, utensils, mugs, plates, etc. The suite has a dishwasher and I’m getting a microwave soon.

About the roomies

My name is Sam (she/her) and I’m a full-time student at the U of S. I’m a home-body that’s quiet and decently tidy. My main priority will always be keeping the kitchen clean as that will be the most important shared space. I have one cat, she’s my everything. I spend all of my free time out in the living areas and you would be more than welcome to do so, too! It can be exhausting and detrimental to your well-being to stay in your room constantly.
