Primrose Avenue

This unit is on the second floor of a large house that has been divided into six apartments. I am looking for 1 roommate to share the place.

= 3 bedrooms

= kitchen open to the dining/living room

= shared bathroom with tub and shower

= finished balconies (enclosed with windows/screens) in the front and back

= basement with washer and dryer and storage area

= tenants can use the backyard deck and BBQ (landlord kindly provides the propane)

The kitchen is equipped and includes fridge, stove and microwave. Please note there is no dishwasher.

Rent includes utilities (water, heating, hydro, and Wi-Fi). Each main room has a ceiling fan - there is no air conditioning. We found that closing up in the morning and running the furnace fan works well on the hottest days. There is no parking space. Some people have street parking permits from the city while others have made arrangements with neighbours who have space.

The dimensions of your room are ~12’ by 11’. There is a single bed in the third bedroom with some basic furniture that you are welcome to borrow for one month until you get yours.

You will need to give two months notice before you move out. One month’s rent is required as deposit.

= Pimisi LRT station: 4 min (then four stops to University of Ottawa)

= Bronson Ave: 7 min (then 11-minute ride on #10 bus to Carleton University)

= Parliament Hill: 22 min

= Chinatown: 4 min

= Little Italy: 6 min

= Dow’s Lake: 25 min

= nearest grocery store is Mercato Zacconi on Preston St.: 10 min

I am friendly, flexible 58 year-old and work full-time from home ~90% of the time. I will spend more time in the office as COVID recedes. I have lived here for 6 years and my roommate during that period just bought a house. You are welcome to speak with them and the landlord.

I am usually out 2-3 nights per week and much of the weekend, and spend quiet evenings at home in between. I stay active and fit (volleyball, cross-country skiing, biking, camping, workouts).

WHAT I WANT IN A ROOMIE:

Please consider this as a joint venture! I am open to your decorations, art, furniture, fridge magnets and household items in the shared spaces as my current roommate is taking their stuff. Let’s keep the place tidy and clean. I am not a neat freak but prefer that dirty dishes don’t lie around for days.

Our building is quiet and respectful and you must be comfortable with that. I have friends over occasionally and expect you will, too, and for more action there are pubs and clubs all around. Overnight visitors are fine once in a while and only for 1-2 nights.

No smokers/vapors or pets, please.
