Redpath Drive

I’m looking for a new co-tenant to share the townhouse I rent in Barrhaven (K2G 6K4), available March 1st. You would be in the master bedroom (I occupy the 2 smaller rooms).

About the house: 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, finished basement, fenced backyard, main floor is hardwood, upstairs and basement are carpeted. Master bedroom has a walk-in closet and en suite bathroom (with walk-in shower and large bathtub). Master bedroom measures 14’ x 12’7“ (excluding closet and bathroom) and has big windows that face the backyard (there are no neighbours behind). Between the garage and basement, there is quite a bit of storage space. Driveway fits 2 cars, and there is a single car garage (which you are welcome to park in during the winter – I like to keep it free in the summer). The walls are extremely well soundproofed between houses. I never hear the neighbours on either side, and both say they don’t hear me either. There is a park directly across the street where everyone walks their dogs (very dog friendly neighbourhood). Pets are welcome.

Rent is $1550 monthly (split between us $775 each), and utilities (heat, hydro, hot water, internet) average around $120-200/month.

About me: early 30s, female, clean, non-smoker. I’m a project coordinator, and work from home. I have a small dog (he’s not yappy) and a cat. I’m generally pretty easygoing, keep the house tidy, and am considerate of others (i.e. I’m not going to be blasting music if you’re asleep). I don’t personally smoke but am 420 friendly as long as it’s in your room or outside. I have music playing in the house most of the time, and I listen to a wide variety of genres. Ideally, my roommate would be the same. The only deal breaker for me would be if someone didn’t like rap and hip hop. That would crush my soul.

About you: one person (no couples), also easygoing, tidy, and considerate of others. Gainfully employed. Extra points if you have a dog.

I really am looking for a co-tenant; this is not a “renting a room in my house” type situation. After my previous roommate moved out, I removed all décor and took everything off the walls because I want anyone moving in to feel like it’s their house just as much as mine. The house is furnished, but I’m not extremely attached to any of the furniture, so if you have furniture you’d like to use that’s no problem.
