About the room

Cherry St. Collective is seeking a tenant (or two) to occupy a large basement room in our community house. The room is large enough for a king-size bed and also a couch and other furniture. Renting the room also includes the use of a small adjacent room for storage or closet space.

The location of the house is in the Cherry Park area of Kitchener, northwest of downtown.

The current tenants are made up of young professionals and mature students who live in community together, sharing groceries, cooking and cleaning responsibilities. All of the tenants follow some faith, but it is not a requirement of future tenants. As the current tenants, we expect new tenants to be welcoming of everyone regardless of race; ethnicity; sexual orientation, identity or expression; and faith or spirituality. We enjoy thoughtful discussion and conversation with each other over meals and beyond.

We are seeking potential tenants that fit the general demographic of who currently live in the house. This place is great for young professionals, mature students, or even a young couple.

As a house living in community, we seek to be a positive influence in our neighborhood, keeping in good standing with our neighbors and enjoying being a part of a diverse Kitchener neighborhood. The house is a short walking distance to the number 20 GRT bus line, and a little longer walk to many others. In addition, the Ironhorse trail is a short walk away, which will take you to downtown Kitchener or Uptown Waterloo, perfect for any human-powered transportation. The room as available for $700/month (non-negotiable) for ideally a 1-year lease. The price includes all utilities and wifi. The house has a large capacity washer and dryer, a locked shed in the back for storing bicycles and a firepit in the backyard that tenants are welcome to use. Parking is limited and available for an additional cost at a first-come-first-serve basis. If you feel like this might be the right living arrangement for you, feel free to contact us

About the roomies

Two University of Waterloo students, ages 23 - 33 years old. And two young adults who are working full-time. Currently, it is four of us living in community, and looking for one more or two people to occupy the basement bedroom.
