Live in a gorgeous Victorian home in central Ottawa. In between University of Ottawa and Carleton University. Just a block and a half from Bank street, so close to shops, restaurants, the canal, and public transportation. One room available in owner live-in house from May/June/July 1 (dates flexible). Shared common spaces on the ground floor include fully equipped kitchen, living room, dining room (with a piano!), full bath and TV room. You also have access to the shady side yard and back garden, as well as the veggies and raspberries that I grow. There are three large bedrooms upstairs - yours is the side room that looks over the trees and is very quiet. Room can come furnished. The other are the owner’s room and another tenant’s room (leaving in late June). Full bath upstairs with a clawfoot tub. All utilities and high speed internet included. Must be comfortable with cats, as the neighbour’s cat visits frequently. The house is scent-free and smoke free due to owner allergies. This is a cannabis friendly home, providing you smoke outside. If you smoke cigarettes, this is unfortunately not the home for you. I am open to a lower rental rate IF you would only be here part time (i.e. if you are a government professional who needs to come into town for a few days each week).

I am 48, own my house and am a government professional. I am looking to share my home with other respectful, communicative, quiet, tidy and interesting people. I enjoy cooking, creating, being outdoors (in the garden and open water swimming, hiking and cycling) and good conversation. I currently have one amazing tenant, who will be leaving in June as their internship will be done. My partner who has their own apartment stays over sometimes. The neighbour’s cat is also a regular fixture in the house.
