About the room

Hi!

We are looking for a roommate to occupy the third bedroom of our 2nd-floor apartment in the Glebe — facing Bank Street. If you are LGBTQQIP2SAA-friendly, are doubly vaccinated, happy to communicate openly and are friendly, considerate, respectful and clean, we’ll get along fantastically!

The apartment has 3 bedrooms with 1 full bathroom, a very spacious, brightly-lit living room and a big kitchen. The common areas are already furnished, but the bedroom is not — the approximate size of the room is 12.5ft x 8 ft, with an entryway and enclosed closet. A shared communal closet provides some extra storage and a balcony for outdoorsy items (e.g., bikes and such). The apartment includes in-suite laundry (no coin or card needed) and is smoke-free inside. The rent is $725 a month plus some utilities (i.e., hydro and internet are extra, but heat is included).

We are currently on a flexible lease (month to month). You can choose to sublet the room or to have your name added to the lease. Ideally, we are looking for a roommate who wishes to stay at least 6 months or more. Note that the last month’s rent is required regardless of whether you want to be added to the lease or sublet.

About the neighbourhood:

The apartment is located in the Glebe, a safe and lovely neighbourhood full of local shops, cafés and grocery stores. The area also includes public libraries, gyms, cinemas, community centers and shopping centers (e.g., 15 min busing to Billings bridge and 20 min bus ride to Rideau Centre). Additionally, Lansdowne and the farmer’s market are less than a 10 min walk, and the university is reasonably close (i.e., 35 minutes walk to uOttawa and 25 minutes to Carleton University).

If you love going out for walks or doing outdoorsy activities, there are parks everywhere, and you can walk to the Canal in 10 minutes or to Dow’s Lake in 20 min.

Bus routes running down Bank Street include the 6, 7 and 56, and the closest LRT stations (Lees & uOttawa campus) are less than a half-hour away.

No available parking spot is included, but street parking and a city parking lot across the street for visitors (extra cost).

Sleepwell manages the apartment complex, and our superintendent/property manager/landlord is very proactive and reliable at handling any issues.

If you are interested, please send a message telling us about yourself and include if you have an animal in said message. Note that if you have an animal, we would like to meet both you and them to ensure that all roommates get along — i.e., animals and humans.

We are looking forward to hearing from you!

About the roomies

Please see above! :)About ourselves:

we are two bilingual folks (27 they/her & 29 she/her), one of which works full-time from home and the other is completing an undergrad and working part-time in person. We have a very friendly, energetic and playful medium-sized beagle, a super adorable and loveable cat and a less energetic but just as cute pet turtle. In our downtime, we enjoy a variety of crafts, movies, TV shows, reading and video games, plus the occasional hangouts with friends. As such, we are both pretty quiet and definitely non-party people. Additionally, we are both fully vaccinated and take COVID measures seriously.
