Hey there! My name’s Maddie (she/her) and I’m looking for someone to sublet the second bedroom in my New Edinburgh apartment.

The apartment has two bedrooms, a living room and separate dining room, kitchen, bathroom and screened in veranda/sunroom that’s awesome to sit out on in the spring through the fall. It’s on the top floor of a 3-storey walk-up and the building only has two other tenants, both of whom are really friendly. Rent includes heat and water as well as the use of a washer/dryer that are on a shared schedule with the other apartments. I’m currently using the parking space included (and will be paying the difference in rent) but there are other parking options available for an additional cost. Hydro and internet are extra.

The apartment is located off of Beechwood Avenue, just outside of the downtown core, and has a grocery store, pharmacy, dentist office, physiotherapist, LCBO, dispensary, and several restaurants, pubs, and coffee shops all within walking distance (plus a thrift store!). It’s also about ten minutes away by foot from Stanley Park which has bike and walking trails that run along the Ottawa river. The number 6, 7, 19 and 20 bus routes stop at the end of the street.

A bit about me: I’m a 31-year-old woman who works from home for the government and I’m a bit of a homebody so I’ll be around most of the time. I have no problem giving you your space and need some for myself too, but ideally I’m hoping that we’ll hit it off and be able to hang out as well :) I’m pretty quiet, a big fan of movies and binge-watching shows, reading, writing, crafting, baking, and being outside in the warmer months. I can be a little messy at times (blame the ADHD), but I like to try keep the apartment tidy as much as I can. I’m happy to discuss what roommate expectations we have and come up with agreements, chore lists/schedules, etc. that work for both of us!

I have a pet bunny named Henry who’s free-roam in the apartment, like a dog or a cat. He’s litter box trained and clean and he can also be kept out of your room if you’d prefer just by keeping the door shut or putting up a baby gate in the hallway. He’s pretty shy and might take a bit of time to warm up, but if you give him treats he’ll love you lol. You won’t be expected to help care/pay for anything regarding the bunny, but unfortunately I can’t take any other pets because of him.
