About the room
Welcome to Thames! This is one bedroom in a charming two-bedroom apartment - well-located and well-connected on the border of Carlington and Westboro. The apartment is modern with a newly renovated kitchen and bathroom, hardwood floors and a full dining room.
Only a 5 to 10-minute bus ride to central Westboro (Richmond Rd.), Little Italy (Preston St.) and Tunney’s Pasture for the LRT. Just down the road there is a small Indian grocery store and a Latin American mini-market. Food Basics is a 6-minute walk away, with plenty of options for groceries along Merivale Road, easily accessible with the 80 bus.
Please note that the furniture pictured in the living room will be gone by move-in as it mostly belongs to my current roommate. However, this presents a fun opportunity to decorate with new stuff :) IMPORTANT: I have a small, hypoallergenic Yorkshire Terrier who stays with me around half the time (I share custody with my sister :P). My roommate will need to be okay with this arrangement.
About the roomies
Hi there! Rachel here, I’m a graduate student in International Affairs at Carleton University, but I’m working full-time until December at Global Affairs Canada as part of my co-op program. I’m a friendly and low-maintenance person who enjoys sharing a living space and building a rapport with my roommate. If you prefer to keep to yourself most of the time, this might not be the best place to look, as I’m sociable and am looking for someone who is similar :)
I do a lot of cooking and baking, and love sharing my food, so if you’re a foodie (or simply enjoy eating), you’re in luck! Some of my other personal interests include foreign relations (of course), sculpting, cultural exchange, feminism and social advocacy, global cuisines, local and international travel, and history.
