About the room

ISO: a friendly and clean roommate – preferably female – to share a bright and spacious 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment.

LOCATION: The building is located on Bathurst street and the closest main intersection is Bathurst and St. Clair West. It is right in front of a TTC bus stop and is a 5 minute bus ride to Line 1 and 10 minute ride to Line 2. There is a Loblaws right near St. Clair West station and a No Frills just a little further up on St. Clair West and Alberta Avenue. There are tons of restaurants and shops on St. Clair West and it’s a lovely neighborhood! The building community is kind and welcoming and there is shared laundry on the main floor. The unit was recently renovated and fitted with new kitchen appliances. This is an older building so the apartment is spacious with lots of natural light and windows. Accessing downtown Toronto/midtown is easy and quick if you’re in the mood for something fun & there is also a lot of greenery and a few walking trails nearby (Cedervale Ravine) if you’re looking for nature and calm.

ROOM: One private bedroom that is spacious (can easily fit a king sized bed), has good closet space, and a large window overlooking the courtyard. Please note, the bedroom is unfurnished.

PRICE: $1340 is the rental price. Internet is $35/monthly, and hydro is ~$30-40/monthly. Parking is available if needed, for an additional ~$100/month. The unit was used for residential purposes prior to 2018 and is rent controlled.

COMMON SPACES: The living room and dining room are furnished with couches, a desk, and a dining table. Currently in the process of furnishing it with a few more touches to make the place homier as my current roommate will be moving out with her furniture. Happy to shop with you to find pieces that reflect both our tastes! There is also a balcony overlooking Bathurst street, a perfect place to catch the setting sun.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS: I am looking for a co-leaseholder to be added to the current lease as a co-tenant. Required documents include a current job letter/proof of income, 3 most recent paystubs, 2 forms of Canadian photo ID, and first and last months’ rent (please note, these are the requirements from building management and are not my own). *Please note, the pictures of the empty room are of the unit beside me - the layout is identical but the closet space is bigger.

About the roomies

As for me, I am respectful, communicative, working professional in my late twenties. I make it a priority to have a clean and tidy space. I am also a vegetarian so am ideally looking for someone with a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle (but not a deal-breaker, as long as you are clean and respectful). It is important for the apartment space to be clean, safe and feel like a home, so looking for someone who will fit in well. I work from home a few times a week and spend my evenings catching up with friends, at the gym, or studying.
