Rue Beaubien Est

Big and bright Little Italy 2 bedroom to share with me. :-) The apartment is on Beaubien, near Gaspé - 2nd floor, stairs only. It has two closed rooms, a double living room, a back balcony and a big back patio (dog not included) with a garden which is shared with the neighbours. Aside from the room, the house is fully furnished and decorated. It’s probably best for someone who doesn’t have much beyond the furnishings for their room, but we could see what could work! There is some limited closet space in the shared areas for sheets/coats/tools etc. and lots of storage in the basement. I have a cat who is a big cuddler once she warms up to you. I’m not sure how she is with other animals so my preference would be someone without pets. The room: Medium with a decent closet and gets some nice morning light. It would be unfurnished but there might be a possibility of getting some furniture from my roommate or moving some things you need into the room from common areas. It’s towards the back so doesn’t get the Beaubien noise.

A bit about me: I work from home in sexual and reproductive rights advocacy and really value a calm, cozy, friendly home environment. I like to recharge alone but also love a good chat over a shared meal, drink, bike ride, etc. I love to cook and enjoy having people over for dinner here and there and maybe the very occasional little party. I speak English and Spanish and am working on my French, but it’s pretty bad. I’m ideally looking for someone in a similar sort of life stage to me. My desk is in the living room and I often have meetings in the day, so it would probably be best suited to someone who works fairly conventional hours outside of the house, but we could chat and see what we could manage if not. I like the house to have some semblance of order but am somewhere on a spectrum of tidiness - if you consider yourself really messy or really intense about cleaning we might not be a perfect match. I like to think I’m pretty flexible and accommodating and typically feel most comfortable when other people are too and we can communicate openly and find what feels good for everyone. It’s important to me that there be kind communication and alignment in what it means to us to share a home.
