About the room

I have an empty upstairs bedroom for rent. Upstairs is shared (kitchen/bathroom/livingroom) and there is shared laundry downstairs. Its a great neighborhood on Fairfield island, within easy walking distance of the bus if you need. Parking available. No more uncaged pets, I already have 2 dogs upstairs and a cat downstairs (and 3 snakes and a chameleon, all caged). Bills (internet, electric, gas) are split evenly between everyone who lives in the house.

About the roomies

Me and my girlfriend have the upstairs master bedroom and a good friend rents the bedroom downstairs (he has his own bathroom down there). My girlfriend vapes, no cigarettes in the house. I’m disabled and use medical marijuana (I dab). We’re all introverts and geeky, and would prefer to rent to someone who lives a similar lifestyle. I don’t like arguing/fighting it gets things nowhere, we all prefer to discuss problems so we can figure it out together in a positive manner.

The bad: I have trouble keeping up with household chores due to my disabilities (Multiple spinal surgeries and neurodivergence, I do not produce enough of certain key neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin that are both needed for executive function) so I’m a little messy (not dirty) and I don’t maintain outside very well (the yard is a little wild). Because of this we may be able to come to an arrangement like no bills if your willing to help out around the house beyond your share of chores, otherwise you have to be ok with me always trying to play catchup with chores. I am specifically mentioning this because I do not want to live with someone who is going to be frustrated and angry because disabilities are a major roadblock in getting stuff done around the house. My dogs (specifically the younger one) bark, mostly when someone comes to/in the front door. We’ve tried to train her not too, but I think its a breed thing.
