Looking for a roommate to share a two bedroom one bathroom apartment in James Bay. Longer term preferred since I plan on sticking around here for the foreseeable future (for the relatively cheap rent), and looking for a new roommate is a pain, haha.

The bedroom is unfurnished, but the rest of the apartment is fully furnished (however, there’s probably room for some additional furniture pieces in the common areas, just ask!) There’s off-street parking in the lot out back for an additional fee (I can check price and availability with the building manager if this is something you’re interested in, otherwise there’s street parking). The building is not pet friendly, and there is no smoking on the property (you just have to take it to the boulevard).

The building is in a convenient location with two grocery stores within two blocks, and it’s less than a ten minute walk to the ocean. Public transit options are the 2, 3, 5, and 10 within a block, and less than ten minutes to the Legislature terminus for pretty much any bus that goes to the bottom of Douglas. The only major transit issue is that there isn’t a direct bus nearby that goes to Camosun or Uvic, so it isn’t ideal for a student without a vehicle.

$820 includes Rent - 750 Half internet - 57.50 Half utilities - average 12.50 a month and happy to leave it at that for the sake of convenience rather than splitting pennies every month.

The unit is on the second floor, and there is an elevator, but the bathroom door is narrow so not ideal for a full-time wheelchair user. Your bedroom would be the larger one (about 9.5ft x 13ft) which has tons of closet space. There is also a storage locker on the main floor and a second in the front hall.

I’m not super picky about who you are or what you do for a living as long as you’re not a bigot, pay rent on time, and clean up after yourself (bonus if you have references from previous landlords or roommates).

30 year old trans guy. I’m a hobby artist and writer, and I work from home with my desk setup in the livingroom, so I’m around a lot, but I absolutely don’t expect you to avoid the common spaces.
