About the room

I’m In search of a compatible housemate to rent a spacious room in a large, high ceiling, bright basement suite in Shaughnessy with my two small, well behaved cats and I, on or around March 1st.

Near Granville and 33rd, this bottom suite in a large house is close to downtown and about as central as it gets. With large back and front yards, total privacy and a quiet, peaceful locale, this space is ideal for a student or young professional who values a calm, relaxed and cozy living space. The neighbours/renters upstairs are a couple who are very quiet and clean and the couple (who rent one third of the basement) are also extremely quiet and respectful.

The property has visitor and street parking, on site washer/dryer, is close to two major bus routes and feels like a small town (albeit a very affluent small town) in the middle of a bustling city, steps from VanDusen garden, Quilchena park, Kerrisdale and South Granville shopping and 10 minutes or less to downtown.

I’m currently enrolled in studies at Langara college, where I’m working towards my degree in social work. I moved back to Vancouver two years ago to attend school from a nearby Gulf Island where I co-own and run a successful small business. While I’m still commuting to the island twice per month (for 3-4 days at a time), I’m searching for work closer to home, for a more balanced work/life/school schedule. A quiet, calm, clean, tidy and safe home is essential to me for my studies and future goals, as well as my cats Dove and Rosa, the two most important creatures in my life.

About the roomies

About my future housemate:

While it’s not hard with these two, being a lover of cats is a major asset. A housemate that will truly enjoy their company and who doesn’t mind feeding them etc. every once in a while.

Being a very clean and tidy roommate is a must as well. I think cleaning up after ourselves when using common areas is essential in sharing space and at the end of the day, shows respect toward our respective housemate. Someone who is comfortable establishing healthy boundaries and receiving and respecting them is paramount as well. A pretty quiet property, anyone who needs or enjoys doing noisy activities probably won’t work. I have no preferences or biases for potential housemates and I just want to share the space with someone great.

Looking forward to meeting you!
