THE ROOM

I have a beautiful bedroom available with a queen bed, in my large, new, luxury home. There is a large bay window making the room lovely and bright, with a nice outlook up to the woods and the Niagara Escarpment.

It is fully furnished, but if you prefer unfurnished, or semi-furnished, the contents can be removed.

There is a good-sized closet with built-in cubbies, and a desk and chair.

This bedroom has an ensuite “Jack and Jill” bathroom which means the bathroom is shared with another bedroom and therefore with one other female who has already moved in. (She is a considerate, quiet, working professional.) You can, of course, lock the bathroom doors when in use.

The bathroom is very pretty, with a combined shower and bathtub, pot lights, and a heated tile floor.

THE HOUSE The house is a new, custom-built detached home with 4,000 sq. Ft. above ground, plus the basement, so there is LOTS of space for everyone.

The style of home is modern farmhouse. It’s bright and airy, with high-end finishes, and is very comfortable. It has an open plan kitchen/dining/great room, with high ceilings and beams and a grand two-storey, stone fireplace in its centre.

A laundry/mud room with a washer and dryer is on the main floor.

The back yard is encircled with cedar fir trees and private year round. There is a gas BBQ, covered patio and covered deck for your enjoyment complete with dining table/chairs, sun loungers, whicker sofa and chairs.

There is a home gym in the basement with basic equipment e.g. a yoga mat, exercise ball, free weights, kettle bell, steps, etc. I’m in the process of assembling an elliptical machine. There is also a ping pong table.

We can discuss if you need to store anything in the basement.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD You’d be living on a quiet, safe, leafy street, across from a lovely park with trails and an outdoor skating rink which the community builds each winter.

Ancaster Village with its performing arts centre, shops, spas, pubs and dining is minutes by car or a 15 minute walk through the park and trail. Dundas village, McMaster University and hospital, downtown Hamilton, a Go Bus station, and Westdale Village are all a short drive away.

GETTING ABOUT Free parking on the driveway and on the street right outside the house.

There is easy access to highway 403 and the Lincoln Alexander Parkway and there’s a bustop at the entrance to the neighbourhood. The nearest GO Bus is at McMaster. Nearest Go Train is Aldershot with regular trains to Toronto in about an hour.

This is a perfect location to explore all the Niagara Escarpment has to offer, with Bruce Trail access, waterfalls, conservation areas, and lakes, etc.

WHAT RENT INCLUDES Parking and all utilities are included as well as fast wi-fi, and Netflix, Prime, Plex, and Roku on the main big TV in the sitting room.

THE ROOMMATE Looking for an honest, reliable roommate who is easy to get along with and considerate of others. The right fit is very important.

This is a very nice set-up here. It would suit someone who appreciates comfort, space, calm, lots of natural light, and pleasant surroundings, and who prefers not to live alone or subterranean in a basement apartment.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE A small, (12 lb) friendly, spayed toy spaniel, lives here. Most of the time you won’t notice she’s in the house, but she does announce the arrival of visitors.

Cannabis is OK to smoke, but outdoors only. Renter’s liability insurance and a background check are required.

I am positive, friendly, humourous and outgoing, but give people their space and enjoy my own quiet time, too. I am ok with occasional social gatherings (small groups) and even overnight guest now and then, but am not into partying at the house.

My current roommates and I like the place to be clean and tidy but are not obsessive about it, just want to share a pleasant environment conducive to relaxing, and not live in mess.

I have lots of interests, especially travel, tennis, and performing in local theatre. I try to keep fit, and enjoy meeting new people, and trying new things.

There are two female roommates in the house already and both are extremely considerate, pleasant and easy-going. If you were to move into the home you would be the 3rd and final female renter to share the house with me, the owner ( so four occupants altogether). Just a reminder here that it is a large, airy house.
