Howdy Future Toronto Friends,

Posting because I’m moving to your city soon, and SEEKING a place to call home.

Ideally, looking for a room in a shared house/apartment, because I’d love to toss my lot in with some awesome local folks as I get settled in a new town. I am open to self-contained studios/1bdrm within budget.

Ideal move-in date would be May 1st (though I may be able to swing April 15th to lock down the right place). My hope is for something long-term, though I would consider sublet options, particularly if there is a chance of lease renewal at the end of the term.

In terms of budget and location, I’m somewhat flexible. The goal is to find something relatively central/core-adjacent and well-connected by transit. $1,350ish all-in would be great, though I have some wiggle room, if the place is exceptional or has major amenities (like an ensuite bathroom).

About Me: Male, 30s. Currently work for Statistics Canada, but moving to Toronto to transition back into the private sector.

I’m very reliable on bills, happy to split the chores, and always open to split incidental household expenses and improvements to the space.

I am a pretty laid-back presence around the house, but also very social. I love a good kitchen chat or a hang session, and would much rather find a living situation that feels more like joining an actual household than just being co-tennants who nod wordlessly in the hall on their way to their respective rooms.

Not a super exciting list of hobbies: I go to the gym daily, like to cook (and share), watch series/films, play softball in the Summer, and head out to the pub or karaoke from time to time. I’m also a musician, but don’t do much of that at home, besides a bit of occasional noodling on my acoustic guitar in my room.

I am gay, so a queer-friendly situation is important to me; otherwise, super open-minded and good at getting along with a lot of different kinds of people.
