Description

My name is Tim, looking for a medium to large sized room to rent. The ideal room would be large enough for either a single or double bed, a mini-fridge, a recliner chair, with a flat screen TV on the wall. My price range varies from $800/month to $1000/month inclusive, depending on the size of the room.

I am a fairly reclusive person and am enjoying solitude more as I get older. Mainly an introvert, yet at times can be extroverted, I value privacy and being mindful and considerate of those around me. As an empath, I am sensitive to the moods and energy of other people and rely heavily on being in nature to unwind and also recharge. I would describe myself as a neat and tidy person and can’t live around alot of disorganization, clutter, or chaos. I’m looking for a scent free home; no artificial or chemical cleaners, perfumes, colognes, air fresheners, etc. I’m ok with incense and essential oils though.

Ideally, I would like to rent my own apartment and live alone, but as we all know, that is getting more and more expensive and out of reach for some. So I am looking to rent an all inclusive room in a home or apartment where the other person would also prefer to live alone, but for financial reasons they have to rent a room out. Someone who is similar to me, who is reclusive and enjoys solitude. Someone who isn’t necessarily renting the room out in hopes of being around eachother all the time, although some social interaction is definitely good, and may or may not progress into a friendship.

The ideal living situation would be for me to become familiar with and respect the owners routine and schedule, whether in the morning, throughout the day, or the evening. For example, if you wake up for work at 6:30am have a shower and make breakfast and are gone by 7:30, then I’m going to give you that time and not be trying to do the same thing at the same time. Same with cooking supper. If you get home from work at a certain time and want the kitchen space I will either be in my room or taking the dog out. If you are looking to have a ‘roomie’ for regular barbecues, movie and game nights, then I am not that guy. That said, a good game of chess or risk once in awhile is always good for the soul, and who can pass up the occasional barbecue on a summer afternoon?

I am a non-smoker and cannot live with someone who smokes cigarettes inside. I do smoke marijuana, primarily in the evening after supper I smoke a bit, outdoors if required.

I have a dog, he is a Siberian husky named Sage, neutered, 8 years old. He is quiet and friendly with people and other dogs. Not good with cats though because he wants to chase them. He sheds fur mostly 2 times a year in the spring and fall. During that time I stay on top of the vacuuming daily with a hand-held cordless shark vacuum and also an upright vacuum with a good filter that is washable. I enjoy taking him to the dog park to socialize and play and also hiking on trails in the forest. He doesn’t necessarily need to roam around the house or apartment all the time because he would be on the bed in my room. Ideally, I would like to rent a room in a house that has a backyard, fenced in would be amazing, but if not, then I could just put him out on a lead-line. A patio door or even a regular sized door to the backyard would be incredibly helpful in terms of letting him in and out. As a husky, he likes being outside alot, and he especially loves the winter and laying out in the snow. I clean up his poop on a daily basis. It would be great if you have a friendly and playful dog as well, Sage has been socialized with dogs of all sizes and breeds.

I am a self-employed carpenter and I have also worked for all kinds of contractors and builders over the past 25 years. The ideal rental would have some storage space available in a garage or shed for my tools and also some personal items that are in stackable totes. If there is no storage space available then permission to put a temporary plastic or wood shed supplied by myself either in the backyard or beside the house. I would require a parking spot for a pickup truck.

I would like to live in the country if possible, or at least in a quieter neighborhood. I cannot live next to noisy and busy roads or highways. Looking for a country road or quiet sidestreet atmosphere.

I am from the Owen Sound area and am currently living in Sauble Falls which is near Sauble Beach. I have lived in various areas of Muskoka for about 3 years and also lived in BC for about 10 years. I am open to relocating anywhere in Ontario if you have what I am looking for.

I wanted to be as thorough and descriptive as possible, to explain what I’m about and what I am looking for. Please reach out if you have any questions or would like more information.

Student of life Definition:

a person who continuously learns from everyday experiences, human interactions, and personal challenges instead of relying solely on formal education.

FYI:

Introverts gain energy from quiet time and solitude. Social events can drain their energy over time.

Extroverts gain energy from being around other people. Isolation or lack of social interaction can drain them.
