Description
🏔️ Couple looking for accommodation in Canmore | Late October–Early December, with possible extension
Hi everyone! My fiancé John and I are looking for a place to stay in Canmore from the end of October through the beginning of December, with the possibility of extending our stay through the end of March/beginning of April.
This is a bit last-minute because I just received confirmation that I’m able to complete my university teaching placement in Canmore! I’m a student currently living in Calgary and studying through Campus Saint-Jean at the University of Alberta to become a francophone/French immersion elementary teacher. My university will be covering our accommodation and transportation costs for the placement, so you can rest assured that rent will be paid reliably!
A little about us: we are a quiet, clean, respectful, and responsible couple. We’ve been living together for about two years and know how to share a space well. John works remotely in finance during the day and I’ll be out during the day Monday to Friday during “teacher hours,” and neither of us are party/club people. We’re also non-smokers, have no pets, and aren’t big drinkers — I don’t drink at all, and John just enjoys an occasional beer. We’re getting married in Canmore as well, so we’re especially excited about the opportunity to spend some time there! ❤️
We both have several years of rental experience. I’ve lived with up to five roommates at a time without any complaints. John previously rented with roommates in Lethbridge while he was attending the university, and after he finished his degree, we leased an apartment together in Waterloo for a year while I finished my degree at the University of Waterloo. We’re happy to provide rental references — including from John’s former landlord/roommate, who is actually now a close friend of ours and even photographed our engagement!
We recently bought our first home in Calgary; we are established and responsible tenants with good credit and a strong interest in treating someone else’s home with the same care we treat our own. We’re mature, clean, considerate, and very respectful of neighbours and shared spaces.
Our ideal budget is around $1,500/month (with flexibility), and we would actually love the option of starting with a 6-week rental from late October to early December, since that aligns with my fall placement. That said, we’re very flexible and can work with whatever arrangement makes sense for the landlord. We definitely wouldn’t leave anyone in a difficult position by “shorting” them on a rental period and can discuss monthly rent for the months of November and December, with the potential to extend through to the end of March/beginning of April 2027 😊
One other bonus: John’s family has a family cabin in the Canmore area, so there will be periods when we’re staying there rather than at the rental. We wouldn’t be occupying the space 24/7!
We’re hoping to find a quiet, comfortable, respectful place where we can settle in during my placement. We’d be happy to provide references, proof of funding from the university, or any other information that would help you feel comfortable renting to us😊
Thank you, Olivia & John
