Madeleine

Hello! Madeleine is my preferred name, but the nicknames Mad or Madz work too! I’m a UBC masters student, and gov can employee. I specialize in museum collections, storage management and heritage collections relocation.

I’ve landed a job in Winnie from Nov 2026 - Mar 2028 and am looking to sublet, or join a lease. I’ve only been to Winnipeg once, and currently reside in Ottawa with my long-term partner at our permanent residence. They will be remaining in Ottawa at our place, and I will be temporarily headed to Winnipeg for the duration of my contract - returning to Ottawa immediately after it ends (back to Ottawa April 01/2028).

I will be flying to Winnie with only 2 suitcases and a backpack, and any furniture I purchase I’ll be reselling or donating once my employment ends. I’ll be flying into town this month (September) to look at places and secure housing, and need to relocate officially Halloween weekend. I’ll also be flying back to Ottawa regularly for visits and doctors appointments.

Although I don’t have any friends in Winnie yet, I anticipate my partner will come visit me in between my visits back to Ottawa. I love antique shops, art, books, music, food, apartment dancing, pets, and plants! Unfortunately my 16 yr old kitty companion passed recently, and so if my roommate had a pet - that would be a lovely bonus!!

I’m a calm, respectful, positive person who really values privacy and mutual respect of shared areas. I do try hard to keep common shared spaces clean, and above all else would love an ensuite washer/dryer set up and a strong internet connection for my degree. My core group of friends are members of the queer community (as am I) and scattered across Canada, or in Ottawa, and so I’d love to find my community in Winnie.. or just friendly, understanding, and kind people to chill with. I am cannabis friendly, and really believe that your business is your own.

My employment is located in the Exchange District, and so I’d like to find housing within a 5-15 minute (max) walk.
