Our lovely East 8th home is looking for a new individual to join our space as one of our housemates is moving back to the UK.

Move in date will be October 1st, but we are open to the possibility of slightly earlier. We could discuss this further if you’re genuinely interested

This would be an ideal fit for open-minded creatives of any sort who want to be around like-minded individuals looking to support each other. As a home, we respect that people have different schedules and busy lives but we hope to continue to foster a space where people genuinely want to hang out, cook, create, and just chat about life when others are around (while always respecting the need for “me time” as well). We want this space to continue to be more than just somewhere to keep your things. Creating a true feeling of home, friendship, and community is extremely important to us, and we want someone who is seeking the joys of living with others and sharing an awesome home life. We love to do fun roomie activities when we are all around. Everyone tends to make their own meals so there is no kind of scheduled shared meal component to our home. We do have a rotating chore schedule so everyone takes turns on the major weekly tasks (such as emptying the dishwasher, garbage, recycling, and sweeping/mopping the floors). It is VERY important to us that the common spaces stay clean/tidy and comfortable for everyone. We keep a clean home. Looking for people who are warm and open to keeping this space somewhere everyone feels completely comfortable, including open and honest communication when the need arises. Although we welcome anyone to apply, the house does have a strong feminine energy so the room would best suit someone who fits into that kind of space.

ABOUT THE SPACE:

• Large living room with two massive couches for hanging out and space for yoga/stretching. Great for chilling and watching a film. Cozy fireplace for the winter months.
• Spacious kitchen with lots of cupboard storage. We have a dishwasher and an air fryer. We already have all of the kitchen necessities but if you have things to bring and add that is always welcome. We also have a large dining table that is great for having dinner together, having a games night, or as a creative space. *Note that vegans are absolutely welcome but some people in the house do eat meat on occasion and we share all the kitchen supplies (pots, pans, cutlery, etc…) so if this is a no-go for you it likely wouldn’t be a great fit.
• We have laundry machines and a partial bathroom on the main floor.
• Two balconies, one on the main level and one on the upper level. Perfect for those summertime hangs!
• Small garden in the backyard if you like to grow things. We also have a TON of indoor plant babies. Feel free to bring yours! It’s hard to truly show how cozy and spacious this home is in the pictures. Trust us, it’s awesome.

THE ROOM: $800/month + Utilities (half months rent as initial security deposit) Will come unfurnished. Double bed would give you more floor space but enough room for a queen bed if that is what you have. The closet for this room is outside in the hallway. Bathroom is shared with one other person only.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFO:

• Unfortunately we have extremely limited communal storage space in the home and we already have what we need for furniture (although we may have room for a few small additions depending on what it is). Most of what you have will need to fit in your room. If you need room to bring large furniture pieces or big bins of miscellaneous items this will not be a good fit. (We are happy to accommodate what we can though as we want this space to feel like yours as well!)
• Although we love animals the lease does not allow any pets. Sorry!
• 5-7 minute walk from Rupert Skytrain Station and very close to bus routes. The home can seem a bit out of the way but it is truly quick and easy to get around on transit. Lots of shopping/grocery stores within walking distance.
• Free street parking out front for those who drive. Safe bike storage indoors for those who cycle.
• Looking for someone who hopes to stay a while. We are understanding that life happens, but would love to find people who are interested in building this home together and not just in transition.
• Looking to rent to one individual only. Not that you can’t feel comfortable to have people over or to stay with you, it’s just that we already have 4 people in the house and can’t support a 5th roommate full time.
• Yearly Lease Agreement
• We are not a party house at all but are fine with occasional alcohol and are 420 friendly (smoke outdoors only) as long as it’s a healthy and in-control part of your lifestyle.

ABOUT US: 3 girlies in their late 20s to mid 30s: Riley, Mel, and Isabel 🌼 We love all things artistic and natural - arts and crafts, hiking, thrifting, camping, or out and about on an adventure! When we are all home, you can find us hanging in the kitchen having some laughs (who doesn’t love a good kitchen hang - we all like to yap).

Riley is a professional tap dancer, loves watercolour and collaging, but more than anything, she loves crows. Riley is awesome.

Mel is an educator at two different nature schools, an avid traveller (pilgrim), and loves to get lost in the thrift. Mel is awesome.

Isabel is a student focusing on Fish, Wildlife, and Recreation. She is the definition of outdoorsy and fun. Isbael is also awesome.
