THE QUICK AND DIRTY
🏠Large 6bd/3bt shared home in the Kingsway/Boundary area, close to Patterson SkyTrain station
🧞You would be one of five people sharing/cocreating the space
🛏️ private bedroom +/-140 sq feet, shared bathroom with 2 other people
💲$725 + 1/5 utilities per month (long term rental)
📅 Oct 1st
THE DETAILS
Five folks have been sharing this home lovingly, and called it the 🌸Pink House🌸 since 2021!
We have been co-creating this home together for four years and we have really enjoyed cultivating a semi-collective, creative and peaceful house. We respect each other’s personal time/private space, but still come together as well. Given our diverse schedules and our desire to meet each other where we are at, we do not have set regular meals or chore charts, but co-maintain tidy and take responsibility to clean common areas. We rather hang/share a meal spontaneously. We don’t have many hard set rules/regulations outside of the typical pay your rent/utilities on time and
-no pets
-no smoking in the house
-no bigots
Our goal has been to not overcrowd the house, but rather to build a well-kept, functioning home that supports our, needs, lifestyles, and interests. As such, one of the six rooms is maintained as a communal recreational yoga/guest bedroom space.
YOU
We are looking for a roommate who is clean, communicative, mature, creative, active, and passionate about something. We like to have a good time but if you are a heavy partier/drinker, this will not be the best space for you.
THE HOME
This 6bd/3bt 2700sq ft home comes with a three-part living room, full kitchen, dining room, formal dining room, driveway/carport, front and back yard, electric fireplace, giant bean bag, yoga/guest room, and a perfect sunrise/sunset view that will bring tears to your eyes.
This house is NOT wheelchair accessible. There’s at least one step to get into the house and the bathrooms are upstairs.
THE AREA
This house is on the top of a hill in a nice neighbourhood that’s close to all of the amenities but far from the sound of traffic. Easy 15 minute walk to the Patterson skytrain station, Central Park, west end of Deer Lake Park; tons of restaurants, markets, grocery stores, and other stores close by; and the house is within close range of BCIT, Burnaby Hospital, and Metrotown.
❤️If you’ve made it this far; congrats! This might be the space for you! Send a message with some details about you.
About the roomies
Sofie is a workshop facilitator and musician. She works partially from home, teaches music and is also doing landscaping. She is in her 40’s and loves being out in nature, community, music and other creative and conscious events. She loves to socialize, but also needs as much private time and space.
Alayna is a full time RMT student, coming in to her final year of the program. Ideally she likes having a welcoming home environment, but because of the demands of the program, most of the time you can find her in her room studying and hussling. Top values in a house are mutual respect, tidy spaces and contribution, whether that be in a helping hand or in vibes. In her spare time she goes out for runs and dabbles in painting.
Meg is in her 40s and is a massage therapist. She likes to bake and cook, plays the guitar kind of badly and is an enthusiastic cyclist. She is pretty easy-going and generally flexible and values respectful communication and a peaceful home.
Eileen (40), she/her. She works in menstrual equity, facilitating workshops on menstrual health and collaborating with organizations to create more inclusive workplaces. She’s creative, active, and social, and you’ll usually find her working from home, biking, or meditating. She values clear communication and a good balance between social time and alone time.
