Hello! I am seeking out a roommate for my existing 2 bedroom apartment in Centertown near Bronson and Somerset, and move in could be on October 1st, but I would like to do a quick vetting process before we make any decisions! I’ve been here since 2021, so I am not really looking to move as its in a great location, with a huge patio(28x8ft) and it has good proximity to amenities in Centertown. Its incredibly cozy, not small but just, homey. Its just been me and the cats here for a few years, but some life circumstances happened and now its something I’m entertaining.

 I am looking for a delegate from the alphabet mafia(non negotiable, if your a man, you must send a photo of you with a gay icon or doing something a straight man would never do. For safety and science), responsible, but fun, kind of a homebody(not required), who is neat and likes cats(but cant have a cat, I’m so sorry bestie). I have ALOT of plants as well, just incase youre a weirdo who doesnt(?) like plants. LGBT+/Flower Friendly is a must. ‘Free Palestine’, ‘Capitalism is contingent on racism’, ‘feminism(simplified)’ are statements that are contingent in the household, if they bother you, move along.

There are two (BOY)cats in the apartment, they are terribly friendly, like little furry magnets, they don’t bite, hiss or scratch. That being said, I fear another furry four legged dude may be a little too much on my sweet old baby, he’s 15. :(.

The room itself is the second bedroom, but it has a window, baseboard heating and a big closet, it can also be furnished with a dresser and a bed. The kitchen and bathroom had fresh tiling put in before I moved in, there is a combo AC/Heat unit in the apartment. The patio has a small garden, some furniture, and its quite picturesque for the location. Bike storage in the basement. Bus stop 2 min walk from the unit. The neighbours are quiet, except for a business below the apartment. I cant say too much without doxxing myself, but its not daily, or that loud.

Rent is subject to increase but notification will be provided and I believe it was 28$ last time. There would not be a lease to sign, but I have the means to get a thorough roommate agreement drafted and looked over by a lawyer to make sure everyone is in the green. Rent includes utilities and WIFI(Bell FIBE 1.5). The provided photo of the room does not include that specific furniture. I am bad at checking apps and whatnot so ill do my best to check this as frequently as I can.

I am a mid 30’s, ADHD riddled, gremlin workaholic. I work professionally as a chef and event lead for the largest catering company in Ottawa, and I have worked as a chef for 15 years. My schedule is all over the place and stacked, but I make time for art, friends, wine with the girls, traveling, MTG, video games(Not FPS) and riding my bike. I keep to myself for the most part, I work, I sleep, I play with the cats, rinse and repeat. Sometimes I will go out dancing, or go to a food pop-up with some other restaurant industry folks, and yes, sometimes it is like the bear. No, I havent seen it. I am pretty quiet, until I am comfortable, then you will see the gremlin side a little more. Unsurprisingly, I dont do much cooking at home, so there would be alot of space in the fridge for you.
