Semi-furnished private room in a quiet Nanaimo home—parking—six-month term My wife and I are looking for a quiet, respectful, and very clean housemate to share our home in the Diver Lake Neighbourhood, available starting October 1st for an initial six-month agreement. The private bedroom comes with a bed, table, and chair. You’ll have access to a semi-private bathroom (the bathroom is the door next to the room, and a future housemate may be sharing it with you), a shared living room and kitchen, and parking for 1 car. The washer and dryer are available on an agreed laundry schedule. The proposed monthly payment is $1,000 for one person or $1,250 for two adults sharing the room. Heating and gas are not included and are charged separately. The payment includes an advance toward gas, heating and electricity, with your agreed share of those actual bills reconciled at year-end and after move-out. The utility breakdown, heating/gas allocation, and billing schedule will be provided before signing. Cleanliness is especially important to us: please clean up immediately after cooking, leave the bathroom tidy after use, and take your agreed share of regular household cleaning. We value considerate noise levels and respectful communication. We share our home with two well-behaved, trained dogs. You must be comfortable around dogs and willing to follow a few specific instructions that support their training. We’ll explain these during the viewing and provide them before move-in. One small, well-behaved dog may be considered following a successful, pre-arranged introduction with our dogs before acceptance. No cats. No smoking or vaping of any substance anywhere on the property. No illegal drugs or recreational cannabis/drug use in any form, including edibles, on the property. Interested? We enjoy a simple, quiet lifestyle. Evenings are usually spent watching films or anime. On weekends, we sometimes go hiking or take the dogs on a day trip or spend time gardening and looking after the house.
