About the room
Enjoy an exceptionally spacious, fully furnished upstairs master bedroom with your own private ensuite in a friendly, convenient East Vancouver neighbourhood.
Thoughtfully decorated with hardwood floors, artwork, decorative mirrors and warm lighting, the room offers plenty of space to unwind, work or study. It features a queen-size bed with a plush velvet bedframe, fresh linens and pillows, two matching nightstands with elegant lamps, a large dresser, and a dedicated desk with an office chair.
A generous double closet, shelving and extra hanging hooks provide ample storage, while an air purifier and a dry-erase monthly planner add practical touches. Your private ensuite includes a glass-enclosed shower with rainfall and handheld showerheads, a sink and vanity, a toilet, and additional storage.
Beyond your room, you’ll share a bright, clean, new kitchen with an open layout, a dining area, and a comfortable living room with a large couch and TV. There’s also a private, cosy 400-square-foot back deck, half covered for shade and shelter, and half open for enjoying the sunshine.
Rent includes heat, hot water, electricity and WIFI. You’re welcome to use the shared cookware, pots, pans and cooking utensils, provided you handle them with care and clean them after use. Everyday basics such as salt, pepper, laundry detergent, toilet paper and paper towels are also provided.
As an added perk, i currently arrange a monthly cleaner at no extra cost to you. This includes a full clean of your ensuite, the other household bathrooms, floors and kitchen counters. Cleaning is subject to scheduling and may change over time; everyone is still expected to tidy up after themselves between visits.
The home is located on Commercial Street near East 33rd Avenue, with cafés, restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance. Nearby Kensington Community Centre offers a fitness centre, indoor pool and a variety of classes, and the Kensington library branch is also close by. The nearby Route 33 bus provides a direct connection to UBC.
We’re looking for an easy-going professional or postgraduate student who would enjoy sharing our home. Someone settling into life in Canada is very welcome. A short-term stay of a few months would be ideal, though we’re open to longer stays and flexible arrangements for the right fit.
Please note that the house has a no-guest policy, so it’s important that you’re comfortable not having visitors over.
About the roomies
You’ll be sharing the home with three people and two very friendly cats!
I’m a 40-year-old male who works full-time. Outside of work, I enjoy outdoor activities, good food, and a well-deserved day on the couch watching The Office.
Jodie is in her 30s and hails from New Zealand. She works full-time as a server and enjoys reading and soaking up the sunshine.
Preeti is in her early 30s and is studying full-time for her PhD at UBC. She’s focused on her studies and spends much of her time working towards her doctorate.
Our final two housemates are our cats, both around a year and a half old. They’re calm, friendly and affectionate, with lovely temperaments and absolutely no concept of personal space! They hop onto counters, desks and dressers, make themselves comfortable in bedrooms, and may even crawl into bed with you at night.
Being a cat lover is a must. This home suits someone who genuinely enjoys having cats around and is comfortable sharing their space, furniture and occasional pillow with them.
