$1,100/month — utilities AND Wi-Fi included! One predictable monthly payment. No surprise utility bills jumping out at you like the villain in a horror movie.

YOUR ROOM Massive 11’ × 16’ unfurnished bedroom with plenty of room for a bed, dresser, desk, reading nook, or whatever your heart desires.

Your own private ensuite bathroom attached to the primary bedroom.

Access to another separate bathroom with a soaker tub upstairs, plus a half bathroom on the main floor.

Long-term lease preferred. I’m looking for someone who wants to settle in, not someone whose moving boxes are already emotionally packed.

Yes, heated. In Calgary. You can get into your car in January without first performing an archaeological excavation through three feet of snow or scraping ice off your windshield until your soul leaves your body.

Honestly, the garage deserves its own rental listing.

Convenient access to major roads and city amenities

Close to the action, easy to get around, and no need to relocate to a remote mountain cave to find affordable rent. The Bow River pathway is just around the corner with Harvey Passage and the bird sanctuary close as well.

THE CURRENT HOUSEHOLD I have two cats and part-time ownership of a dog, so animal lovers are very welcome! Pets are welcome, too, provided we discuss them beforehand and make sure everyone will get along.

The cats currently believe they own the condo. I pay the bills, but I haven’t had the heart to tell them.

WHO I’M LOOKING FOR I’m looking for a respectful, clean, communicative female roommate who wants a comfortable, long-term living situation.

Ideally, you’re someone who: Respects personal space and shared spaces.

Understands that cleaning up after yourself is not an advanced life skill.

Is comfortable living with animals.

Appreciates a creative home and understands that artistic clutter occasionally happens.

Wants a home that’s relaxed and welcoming, where we can coexist peacefully without needing to become best friends or communicate exclusively through interpretive dance.

A good sense of humour is definitely a bonus.

MOVE-IN November 1 is possible, with some flexibility around timing. I’d rather take the time to find the right person than rush into a roommate arrangement that isn’t a good fit.

A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR FUTURE ROOMMATE

I’m a professional artist, so art supplies, projects, and works in progress are pretty much part of the furniture. There is art stuff in just about every room, and occasionally a project will take up some space while I’m working on it.

I’m absolutely happy to be more mindful about keeping shared spaces tidy with a roommate moving in, and I believe in keeping things clean and comfortable for everyone. That said, I’m an artist, not a minimalist showroom. There will probably always be something creative happening somewhere in the condo.

Think less sterile IKEA catalogue and more slightly chaotic artist’s sanctuary with functioning plumbing.

The condo is also full of plants and personality. If you appreciate creativity, a cozy home, and living somewhere that feels genuinely lived in, you’ll probably fit right in.
