About the room
Room photos are quite outdated - we now have wood flooring throughout and all rooms have some upgrades
We have rooms available in our Pickering home. This is a three floor 4 bedroom 1+ bath home, with a full kitchen, dining, and living space. Fenced yard and deck. Parking is available. Quiet street, in very close range to GO station, shopping and amenities. 30min drive from downtown core. We can accommodate pets.
Since longterm roomies would be most ideal - we are planning to welcome in a pup in the next year, for transparency. It is a medium breed with medium shed that will be kept to absolute minimum (one of us is allergic). Strictly trained.
The home is fully furnished apart from vacant bedrooms (furnished available if needed) but we can accommodate some of your own common-space furniture if necessary.
Yes, they’re quite a lower price - what is the catch? That we need to do some maintenance ourselves, (yes, that includes a major appliance croaking) the house has flaws and our landlord may use some of our spaces as storage. That a dealbreaker requirement is utmost communication skills: if you’re not able to easily communicate about everything good and bad, it’s not going to work. This is our home; not so much a temporary apartment. If you stay by yourself or shy away from issues, it’s not going to work. That we want roomies who might be a good fit for us as friends too, not cohabitating strangers, so if you have a similar set of traits and hobbies, and ways of living your life - welcome in!
About the roomies
Who are we? My partner Michael and I are laid back people trying to be passionate about everything. He is a carpenter and musician on the side, and gamer with a lot of comedy. Fluent in Spanish. I am an artist with love for plants, reptiles (a snake lives here!) and building a home where we all belong. I love cooking, taking on DIY projects and spontaneity. We thrive on game nights, cool food, outings, concerts, and good banter. I’d say it’s ambiverted around here. We don’t really party, or drink much.
I am a very occasional smoker but you won’t ever have to encounter that. Cannabis friendly for those who aren’t 24/7 smokers and only outdoors.
This is an LGBTQ+ welcome space. Don’t contact me if you have opposition towards LGBT communities, BLM or feel the PPC is a good idea. We’re about humanity and acceptance, for sure.
