Let’s create a shared space where we can celebrate our interests, express ourselves freely, and strengthen our bonds with one another. Lively discussion groups, fun tabletop games, and scrumptious potlucks are just some of the events we have planned. We’re seeking a roommate to co-host events that you feel passionate about, so we can take our community to new heights.

With three and a half bathrooms, there’s plenty of room to share. You’ll be joining four of us (three guys and one lady) with one awesome cat as our official house mascot. (Sadly, due to our lease, we can’t take in any more pets.) Since our fifth female roommate is moving closer to work on April 1st, we are looking for another female roommate to maintain the gender balance.

Your room is a spacious, main floor bedroom with two windows facing north-west that let in plenty of light. We have a spare double bed, a nightstand, and a desk, or you can bring your own furniture if you prefer. You’ll be sharing a full bathroom with only one other person, so you won’t have to worry about waiting your turn. You’re also welcome to use the shared basement bathroom if the main floor one is occupied.

Our bright and roomy main floor has 1400 square feet of space to live, play, and hang out. Our spacious, updated kitchen has two fridges, a stove, microwave, dishwasher, toaster oven, espresso machine, instant pot and more. In the basement, we have a washer & dryer, storage space, a fireplace, exercise equipment and hangout space. We also have a robot vacuum to keep the floor clean. The back yard has a vibrant vegetable and herb garden to share, mature shade trees, 3 hammocks, a fire pit and a barbecue. There is also a beautiful flower bed in the front.

We have plenty of on-street parking. It’s a 10-minute walk to grocery stores (Freshco, Co-op) and other restaurants and amenities at the Brentwood Village Shopping Centre. There are several parks nearby, including Nose Hill. Brentwood C-train station is 12 minutes (1km) away. Nearby bus routes provide access to University of Calgary, Foothills Hospital, and Dalhousie Station (8, 9, 38, 53, 65, 82, 105).

It’s a friendly neighbourhood where people look out for each other. We have a neighbourhood chat group as well as the Buy Nothing community and groups like that.

We’ve got a one-year lease until March 2024, but we’re really enjoying the place and hoping to stay even longer. You would have a month-to-month agreement with us. Ideally, we’d love to find roommates who want to stay for a while, but we’re also open to short-term stays for the right person. The room is available April 1, but if you are excited about living here, and had planned to move later, please contact us anyway.

Valentyna is a biomedical engineer Ph.D. student at UofC. She is passionate about science, entrepreneurship, community-building, learning, discussions, being curious and active, deep connections, and cuddles. She is a bit more on the introverted side and likes gardening, audiobooks, traveling, hiking, nature, mushroom foraging, psychology, painting, and board games. Originally from Ukraine, she moved to Canada 13 years ago.

Craig enjoys gaming, movies, learning new things, improv theater, and creativity. Although still an introvert at heart, his humanitarian work has inspired a desire to build community networks in Calgary for mutual support, recreation, and a healthy social life. He moved to Calgary after school and has lived here for 25 years.

Darlington is a Licensed Nurse and Youtuber. He is passionate about health and fitness, psychology, financial literacy, blockchain technology, travel etc. He thrives on curiosity and deep conversations and often seeks self isolation for inner reflection of self and environment, a big reason for choosing a community like setting that enables these meaningful connections with self and others. He moved to Canada 9 years ago from Nigeria.

Shashwath is originally from India and moved to Canada 4 years ago. He first lived in Montreal and recently moved to Calgary. He works in the field of Machine Learning/AI, and loves the outdoors (hiking, camping, traveling etc). He enjoys meeting new people, making deep connections and living in a community house that fosters such an environment. He also likes reading books, playing chess/board games and listening to music.

Entropy is a very friendly, active calico cat who enjoys cuddles and play. She also enjoys yoga, bird-watching, hiking and fine dining. Although she enjoys exploring everywhere, she will have to stay on the main floor to keep the basement allergy-friendly.
