Lexie's room

Short-term rental of our second bedroom. Roommate will have a private entrance via back yard, and access to 1 shared bathroom and shared kitchen. The kitchen includes electric range and oven, double sink, dishwasher, refrigerator, toaster oven.

Utilities included on lease: Heat, hydro, water, Internet. No additional appliances permitted by landlord (Fans and small space heaters are OK).

Included in listed price but negotiable: costs of paper products and cleaning supplies in shared spaces (toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, cleaning solutions, dishwasher powder).

Furnishings: a folding bedframe with mattress, a desk/table, and two small bookshelves for $900/month.

Private closet in bedroom, 2-panel window facing north. Private entrance door at north side of building, at back yard through side path. Bedroom has overhead LED light with dimmer switch. Access is 5 steps up from sidewalk, and 5 steps up from yard to small wooden deck at rear door. Radiant heating in Fall/Winter. No air conditioning. No parking. Bicycles can be locked on railing in front of property.

We are a genderqueer couple: White, 28, AFAB; and Chinese, 31, AFAB. We have 3 indoor-only cats. One cat is a rescue who gets anxious if there are loud noises or sudden movements. Roommate who likes cats is ideal. We are typically quiet as one of us has chronic migraines. No overnight guests/parties. We prefer people who are introverted like us. We will keep to ourselves and clean up after ourselves in the shared kitchen and bathroom, and we’re looking for a roommate who does the same.

One of us works from home, and one of us works downtown every day.

We do not accept any smoking or vaping indoors, as it is prohibited by apartment lease agreement and one of us has asthma. All smoking / vaping must be done outside with door closed behind you.
