One room available in a large, bright home 2 minutes to ocean, with park-like backyard. 2SLGBTQ positive environment. Room at $850, available for a year, or possibly longer term depending on a few factors. References will be required.

House with two living areas; we live mostly upstairs. The two bedrooms on the lower floor are rented. The one that is available has a twin bed, dresser, side table, chair, bookshelf and a door to the outside. We may be able to provide a desk, if needed.

Shared living area on ground floor is large and bright, and includes fully stocked kitchen (no full stove), living room, wood-stove, nook, piano, full bathroom, laundry room, mud room, back patio, BBQ, and large private backyard. Bikes, kayaks, and canoe use may be available for occasional use. Close to beaches. Nature all around. Great community. Non-smoking home. No gamers (internet is not good enough) and no partiers.

Located on Protection Island in Nanaimo harbour, a 10 min foot passenger ferry ride to downtown, and from there you are beside the bus loop. It is a 10 to 15 minute bus to VIU. A resident ferry pass makes the cost substantially lower than for tourists/pub goers.

Owners are an older queer couple living mostly on upper floor. Household will share use of lower floor; upper floor space is our private space.

Owners are generally pretty quiet. We love low tide walks and all things ocean, sailing, sunshine, making music, travel, art, yoga, reading, spending time with friends and family, social justice activism, and community contribution. Our current roomie in the 2nd room downstairs is a kind man in his 30s who spends most his at-home time in his room.

We are looking for queer-positive people that enjoy nature and the peace and fun of island living.
