On the top floor, with a window facing south (you can see Canada Place in the distance). Double bed, bedside table, full closet with drawers, sofa-chair + desk with shelving and chair. Shared living and dining room with TVs, gym area (strength & stretch + rowing machine), fully equipped kitchen & laundry, large front and back yard with multiple outdoor seating areas, gas fireplace and barbecue. Three-storey detached heritage house in a safe and friendly neighbourhood nearby. The house has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (1 shower, 1 bathtub) Free parking on the street, access to bike/ garage storage. Utilities included (high-speed internet, cable, gas & hydro). Close to public transit, Lonsdale restaurants, shops, parks and green forest walks. Friends are welcome but no smoking or parties.

Family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teenagers), some living here part time, some born to another culture/ language.
Two large dogs (Bernese/Collie and Boxer/Retriever) We like to take our dogs for hikes, watch shows, singing/ instruments/ music, play sports as well as Xbox/ online games/ board games and talk about life and our latest obsessions. We are friendly and value curiosity, laughter and playfulness. We like to spend some time with the other household members, and also each like some time to ourselves. We mostly eat home-cooked meals, not always together.

ABOUT YOU See it as a benefit to be living in a family and exchange cultural experiences + develop family-type relationships with your roomates.
Can take care of yourself, your room, clean up after meals and help with some cleaning of shared living spaces relative to use (dishwasher, washrooms etc). Looking to stay 3 - 12 months, or longer. OK with or Love dogs, and accept that there will be some dog hairs kicking around (the robot vacuum is used frequently but doesn’t get them all). We welcome BIPOC, LGBTQ+, immigrants and students. For 20+ roomies we prefer female unless the fit is exceptional. Will consider a couple for additional fee. Rent can be negotiated in exchange for certain services (cleaning, landscaping, gardening, dog walking, and other tasks around the house). There is an interview process and we require background checks.
