Hello! I’m Barbara (she/her), a 33 year-old female, and I am the homeowner. I am looking to find two new wonderful housemates to join me and my sweet and shy kitty cat, Soleil, this winter.

I am currently finishing my graduate degree as an expressive arts practitioner, and often work from home. When I’m not writing or developing program ideas, I am often found outside tinkering in my garden, stargazing, or hosting a bonfire. I can also be found curiously learning about something, making home improvements, or creating art. (Soleil predominantly likes to take naps, play fetch, and enjoy her snacks.)

I have lots of experience enjoyably living with people from all over the world, so international professionals, multi-lingual persons, and international students are most welcome. Newcomers and immigrants are also most welcome. I am very familiar with different immigration experiences, as my parents were immigrants and I have friends who are or have been on the journey towards citizenship and/or integrating into a new place.

My home is a neurodiverse and queer-friendly space. I value and strive to maintain a peaceful and beautiful living environment, which is calm, clean, organized, ecologically-conscious, and where our nervous systems can regulate and feel safe. I aim to co-create together a fair, enjoyable, and supportive community between us roomies, that fosters companionship and connection, while also allowing each their own space and privacy.

I would love to live with people who shares these values and goals, and who are inherently considerate, tidy, communicative, respectful, reliable, actively practices sustainable living, and are gentle/kind towards animals. We also will get along great if you are in a calmer stage in your life, like to create community spaces, are a quiet night owl, and have an open/friendly/kind demeanour.

A fondness of cats is a must for any future roomie, being open to interacting with Soleil, on her own terms. (She really loves the storage space in this room, so it would be wonderful if the someone who lives in this space is happy to invite her in sometimes).
