About the room
The second largest bedroom (approx. 8 feet by 12 feet) will be available soon since one of my current tenants is leaving this month. This recently-renovated Tanglewood townhouse, with MANY free extra amenities, is an end unit so it’s very quiet. The location is near Algonquin College, Costco, Merivale Mall and Nepean Sportsplex. An assigned parking spot is not available at the moment but there is street parking available. If you don’t have a car there is excellent bus service with stops just steps from the door. The OCTranspo bus 53 takes you west to Woodroffe Avenue, Baseline Station, Algonquin College and College Square or it takes you east to Merivale Rd & Costco, north to Merivale Mall, Baseline Rd (near Walmart), Carling Avenue (near the Civic Hospital) and Tunney’s Pasture Station where you can connect to the O-Train if you want to head downtown or to University of Ottawa. Tanglewood is a very quiet and safe neighborhood with open green space, a park and walking trails. Your upstairs bathroom, right outside your room, (with built-in bidet on the toilet and body jets in the shower/tub) is shared but there are a total of three bathrooms in the townhouse (one on each level) so there’s no shortage of bathrooms. Basement laundry room has washer, dryer and chest freezer (all available at no extra charge). Rent includes all utilities! There is central heating (gas), effective central air conditioning, a modern renovated kitchen with a full complement of cookware, cutlery, dishes, and glassware plus new stainless steel appliances (Bosch dishwasher, smooth top stove, Keurig machine, microwave oven and large fridge with ice maker in the door). There is strong internet (hardwired to your room for gaming or business meetings plus wireless if you want to move around on your laptop) as well as many streaming services (Netflix, Prime Video, Crave, Disney+ and Dropout) which are provided free to you for your viewing enjoyment. Communal areas (shown in the photos) are already tastefully furnished (kitchen, dining room, living room, library and even patio furniture for the fully-fenced and very quiet backyard) so you don’t need to bring anything other than what you want to put in your private room. You may bring your own furniture or I can furnish the room (if you are a desirable tenant and a good fit for the household). If you want a furnished room please make contact ASAP so I can get furniture for you. I can get the following pieces for you, if needed: double bed, bedside table, computer desk, desk chair, bookcase, chest of drawers, small side table, bar fridge and more (if desired). Let me know what you need!
About the roomies
Four quiet female professionals currently enjoy this 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom, well-located townhouse but one will be moving in March for employment reasons. While the ladies would prefer a new female roommate they would consider a male roommate if they feel comfortable with the new roomie. They are also very open to sharing with someone who is non-binary, trans, etc. They want someone who is an ally of the rainbow community and who is also COVID-cautious and a NON-SMOKER. The new roommate must be willing to share chores and to help keep the place clean and tidy. Everyone cleans their own room and helps with cleaning the shared areas but the roomies also hire a cleaning service to periodically do a thorough cleaning of all shared areas of the townhouse. You would be expected to contribute a share of the cost for the cleaning service they hire monthly. If you wish to share groceries and meal preparation that can be discussed with them but you are also welcome to look after your own meals (your choice). Please note that one tenant has an allergy to fish and seafood! If you are a good fit in the household, then a long term tenancy is preferred. I am the landlady and can easily provide assistance with any problems that may arise as I live only 10 to 15 minutes away from the townhouse.
