The landlord, Bin Chen, lives next door at 208 Langley Avenue. The environment has ranged from mildly unpleasant to psychologically toxic. In the time I have been here the tone has been set by Chen’s behaviour, actions and inaction. Invasive, unprompted visits; a long-term rodent infestation; cracked, shabby flooring in the kitchen and other spaces. It wasn’t long before I noticed my private belongings were being searched while I was out. Papers, digital storage, etc. Home network behaviour turned bizarre shortly after I had it installed. This was inexplicable but for the introduction of malware on devices. Bin Chen is not a terrible person. He is, however, fundamentally untrustworthy, petty, and manipulative. He seems to revel in creating any number of minor problems, apparently for the joy of being required to fix them.
