About the room
Hello lazy butt roommate!
Moving to Toronto and finding it too much work to rent a place and furnish it? No worries, I’ve got you covered! I’m considering buying a 2bed 2bath condo this summer downtown, and on the hunt for another person to rent a bedroom with a private bathroom. Just looking to share the place with a reliable person to help lower the mortgage. Not a greedy person, but your rent would likely be $1,600+, just to give you an idea.
More about me:
- 34 year old straight guy working remotely from home in sustainability. So, if you’re one of those people who don’t want their roomie working from home and would rather live with someone who commutes to work with their rusted bike to shovel elephant sh*t at a circus, I don’t have such a glamorous occupation 😔
- Omnivore, non smoker, no pet, and drink sometimes. Eating out only, but may change this habit to have a healthier lifestyle.
- A few years ago, I was asked by an ex roomie if I’m gay after a few months of living together. Apparently, being a very clean guy can be interpreted as being gay.
- Very considerate person, as I believe in treating people the way you want to be treated. I’ve been living in my current place for 4 years now, and the landlord has never increased the rent. I’d do the same for you if you honour me by staying for a long time.
- Looking for a non smoker and someone without pets, ideally a professional between 26 and 42.
- A very calm and peaceful person. Got my car in 2019 and accidentally honked at someone for the first time over a year later, literally my first horn use. Honked again in 2023 and my friend still talks about it.
- Have lived with 30+ roommates from all over the world: Canada, India, Iran, France, Germany, USA, Canada-Costa Rica, Japan, Brazil, Italy, Hong Kong-Canada-South Korea, Pakistan, Colombia, and Russia. Still missing living with someone from Norfolk Island, but wait! Don’t wanna live with a penguin even though they were hit with Trump’s tariffs. I’ve lived with a couple, and twice with gay roomies. Still missing a lesbian to complete the collection! Once had a miserable roomie in Montreal named Geneviève (>﹏<). If your name is Geneviève and you still decide to reply to the ad, it’s basically you’re trying to convince me you’re an honest politician or a virgin hooker, nice try 😉
- After work you can find me pretty much just lying on the couch reading, especially Trump’s The Art of the Deal. And yep, my debts have been stacking up (╥_╥) Okay, getting a bit serious now, I’ve only read one book in my life, and just recently. I’m into hiking and grabbed a national park annual pass last September, only to find out there aren’t many parks near Toronto. I love hitting up Cineplex for movie nights with friends and even organize the events myself! I was recently trying to choose a movie during a flight and realized that I’ve watched pretty much all the recent movies. I’m also all about the spa life, especially Scandinave Blue Mountain Spa. Road trips are my jam. I’ve done over 20 since 2023, so unless you’ve got some hidden gems, I’m pretty sure I’ve hit all the drivable spots. My last trip was the east coast when I drove 11,183 km in 26 days! As I have not found a condo yet and have exactly zero photos to show, I uploaded some of the nicer pictures I took during my last trip hehe. And of course, I can’t forget about dining out with friends.
- You’ll be my 32nd roommate (not counting Geneviève, or 33rd if counting her). 17+1 females, 14 males.
About the roomies
Perks of living with me:
- I’ve got all the furniture needed for a 2 bedroom apartment.
- I’m known as a pro deal hunter, and my roommates always end up saving a lot from my finds. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if Shoppers issued a worldwide warrant on me for the way I stack deals. Ask me how I get La Roche-Posay sunscreen for about $20, my Rogers phone plan with 100GB in Canada+US for just $11, or IMAX movie tickets on weekends for only $10. Would be glad if my roomie can make use of this info.
- I got a Costco membership and don’t mind sharing my drive to the store with my roomie.
- Have a group of friends that I hang out with for movies, restaurant, picnic, etc. You’re more than welcome to join us.
- Our friendship wouldn’t end once you move out, unless you want to. A roomie moved out last September but we’re still in touch few times a week and we still see each other here and there. I still find her deals and she even got her new home internet under my account as I had a good offer. Last few months she was here we used to call each other friends than roomie.
Once again, looking for a reliable person to share a condo I’m considering to buy. If you message me right away asking if you can come to visit the place, I’ll create a promoted ad on social medias introducing you as an ICE agent : P
And just to be clear, I’m not asking for a deposit or anything that might sound like a scam, this ad is simply to get to know someone, and feel more confident about buying a place if I have someone lined up to share the place with.
