Furnished room available in a fabulous 1918 character 2.5 bedroom home, in Old Ottawa South (Rideau Gardens). A bright top floor unit in a 2 story, built for purpose, duplex with lots of windows. Share the use of a front screened in verandah, back porch, back yard, living room, dining room, kitchen, and bathroom (small but servicable). Bedroom is a good size with a comfortable queen bed. Bedroom furniture/decor shown in pictures can be switched out depending on needs/wants. Laundry in the basement. On street parking only. It is great location with an easy walk to Bank St , the canal, the Rideau River. Buses available on Bank and in front of the home (15 minutes to downtown). Close to Carleton and Ottawa U. Visiting professors and hybrid workers welcome (encouraged)!! Could consider rent discount for those here less than 7 days a week.
About the roomies
I am a semi-retired professional female that works from home. Easy going, social drinker, like to cook and enjoy outdoor pursuits. Generally lead a fairly quiet life. Have lived with partners or roomates most of my adult life. Am opening up my home as my daughter has left the nest. Have a very friendly, small, elderly Bichon Frise dog with lots of character (hypoallergenic). Sorry, but can’t have any more pets as he doesnt like cats and dont really have capacity for another dog.
