About the room
This is a warm, cozy century home with a lot of room to breathe. It isn’t flashy or staged — it’s a lived-in, grounding space and I use layered lighting, fairy lights, and smart bulbs here and there through the house to give a bit of sparkle and combat the darkness in winter.
The house is generally quiet. There’s quite a bit of residential traffic during the day and plenty of birdsong. One of the real gifts of this place is the neighbours. They’re kind, respectful, and genuinely attentive in a “looking out for one another” way.
The kitchen is well used and well cared for — weekend batch cooking, daily meal prep, and plenty of slow mornings with tea and a book. I tidy and clean as I go so the space is always ready for the next person, and I ask for the same in return. It’s a kitchen meant to be shared with consideration, not perfection.
The household rhythm is mostly parallel lives, balanced with genuine companionship — shared presence, easy conversation, mutual care for the space, and the option of sharing a meal now and then if that feels good.
I love to sing and dance in the kitchen and always welcome company :-)

Your Space
The available bedroom is about 10×12 ft, with hardwood floors and trim, a large window, and a charmingly wonky closet. If you need more storage, I’m happy to provide a small wardrobe. The room can be furnished or left empty, depending on what works best for you.
The Neighbourhood
The street itself is a main through-street, so it doesn’t have a classic “sleepy neighbourhood” feel, but the location is extremely practical. Downtown is an easy 10-minute walk, there’s a wonderful Indian/Pakistani grocer just a couple of blocks away, and a Metro supermarket about three and a half blocks from the house. Transit is close by, and daily errands are easy without a car.
Small Things
In the summer, a small wild rabbit often visits the green strip along the gravel driveway for an afternoon snack — an adorable delight. The front yard is being transitioned into a native, pollinator-friendly garden, and there are raised beds in the backyard that you’re welcome to use if gardening brings you joy.
Who This Home Is For
This home is especially well suited to someone living with a long-term illness who needs a health-conscious household and shared understanding around N-95 masking and precautions in public places. I’m looking for a non-smoker who values science, kindness, and mutual care — someone who communicates even when things are hard, and who understands that respect and civility matter most during those moments.
I’m hoping to live with someone who likes working with a housemate to make the space better over time, and who can both offer and receive suggestions in a spirit of cooperation.
Cannabis is welcome on the porch or deck. Dogs are very welcome (I miss mine deeply and would happily help with walks); cats are loved but allergies may be a limitation.
2SLGBTQI+ friendly and affirming
About the roomies
I’m a health-conscious, community-minded person living with long COVID, looking to share my home with someone who values kindness, communication, and mutual care. I appreciate a calm household, shared responsibility for the space, and a sense of companionship alongside independence.
