Enjoy some space & quiet in your own large bedroom available in a 3 bedroom/1 bath garden level suite in the Commercial / Broadway area. On a quiet street just off Nanaimo, itβs a 10-ish min walk to the skytrain (Commercial Broadway Station) and steps from the 9 and 99 B-line buses.
Rent: $923 plus split of utilities/wifi and shared expenses for household items like toilet paper and soap.
One unfurnished private bedroom with approximately 160 sq. feet and a good size closet (>6β W X 7β H X 2β D). There is a decent size living room, equipped but not big kitchen (no dishwasher though so dishes do need to be done promptly), full size washer and dryer in suite and a tub / shower with great water pressure. Backyard with driveway for parking. A garden that is currently being revitalized so if you have a green thumb, feel free to pitch in. There is also a shed for your bicycle/camping gear. Limited extra storage. The tenants that live above us have been nothing but welcoming.
Queer-friendly, multi-gender and multi-ethnicity household the room is for single occupancy only. Sorry, no pets are allowed (as per the landlord). NOT a party or hang out house (one of us works/takes classes from home and all our work schedules vary), prior communication is appreciated for occasional overnight guests. One of us is highly sensitive to fragrances/scents so this is at minimum a SCENT-REDUCED space. Please forgo heavily scented product which may include perfume/cologne, toiletries, detergents/soaps, etc. We can discuss this further if needed. One of us is a smoker, always outside and respectful.
We are looking for a mature (30+), responsible and honest person that has a busy and active lifestyle who works or attends school outside of the house. Someone that is dedicated to tidying up after themselves and share in chores including cleaning/garbage/recycling, and will pay the rent on time. What we value in a roommate aside from honesty is open communication, self awareness and a sense of humor! We are also looking for someone who wants to contribute their vision. So, if you have a bit of extra furniture or your own personal touches, they are more than welcome. We currently have occasional shared dinners, games and movie nights (sometimes including the upstairs folk) so it would be great if you want to join.
Most important, we want our new roommate to feel comfortable as we create a home together. So if you have particular needs, please do express them.
We are looking for a long term tenant and you will be required to add your name to the lease. The final decision will require landlord approval.
