my boyfriend (the landlord) and I live in the basement, which is fully separate from upstairs. We have our own bathroom, laundry, and kitchen setup, and only come upstairs to use the stove/oven. We’re both in our third year at Trent and working, so we’re usually pretty busy and keep to ourselves. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms and a bathroom just for the renters, plus free laundry on the main level. We also have two dogs, but they stay downstairs with us and don’t come upstairs, so you likely wouldn’t see them. We try to keep the house clean and comfortable — I do a deeper clean of shared spaces weekly and handle garbage/recycling, but we do ask everyone to keep things tidy day-to-day as well.
