Hello! I’m looking for a roommate to take over a room in a three-bedroom shared house in Old Ottawa South, just south of Bank and Sunnyside (Glen Ave).
Available May 1st, rent is $900 all-inclusive (heating/hydro/wifi included). Room comes furnished with armoire/closet, dresser, desk with integrated shelves, space heater, and a single bed with an extra trundle mattress underneath for guests. It’s a bright, north-facing room with a view out over the back yard and the Hopewell schoolyard.
The house is a 1.5 bath semi-detached with a well-equipped kitchen, spacious shared living/dining area, in-unit washer-dryer, front and back porch and yards, and bike storage (backyard shed). The house has one parking space not currently in use which is available to rent separately, price negotiable with the landlord.
We are just steps from Bank St in a great neighbourhood - coffee shops, bookshops, and pharmacy all less than a 5-minute walk, 10 minute walk to Carleton, 20 minute bus ride away from Parliament/Rideau. Grocery stores in walking distance (small one in the neighbourhood, full-sized ones at Billings Bridge and in the Glebe). Super easy access to the Canal and Rideau River trails.
Open to folks at all stages of life, but in the past this has been a great spot for young professionals or grad students looking for a quiet but friendly space, good conversation or a shared meal when convenient, a place to hang out outside for a backyard barbecue or front-porch drinks. LGBTQ-friendly, smoking/420 outdoors only.
One-year lease preferred, but open to a shorter term with option to renew for the right person. I also have another room in the house available ($1100, for a bigger room with a queen bed), also posted here. Available for in-person and virtual viewings most evenings and weekends.
