About the room
I’m looking for a special kind of person — someone who finds meaning in being part of a household, not just renting a room.
You’d be living with me, my wife, and our wonderful black German Shepherd in a beautiful and comfortable home in a safe and quiet neighborhood in Riverbend. My wife lives with Alzheimer’s disease, and while I employ professional caregivers during the day, I’m looking for someone who’s genuinely at ease in that environment and willing to lend a hand on the occasional evening — light support, companionship, nothing intensive.
The dog is a big, high-energy sweetheart who needs someone who truly loves dogs.
What’s included: ∙ Private bedroom with an essentially private bathroom ∙ All utilities included ∙ A quiet, relaxed home in one of Edmonton’s loveliest neighbourhoods
What I’m looking for: ∙ Someone who’s home a fair amount and enjoys being part of a household ∙ Comfortable around Alzheimer’s — warmth and patience matter more than experience, though caregiving experience is a genuine plus ∙ A real dog lover ∙ Nonsmoker ∙ Willing to help keep common areas tidy and contribute to light cleaning, lawn care, and snow shoveling ∙ Mature grad students, particularly those in health or caregiving fields, are very welcome to apply
Rent is $600/month, and I’m open to adjusting that based on the level of support you’re able to offer.
Please note — this isn’t the right fit if you’re primarily looking for affordable rent. This is a home that asks something of you, and rewards the right person with a genuinely warm place to land. References and a background check will be required.
If this sounds like your kind of home, I’d love to hear from you.
